Barrettine Cladding Preserver is a solvent-based wood preservative specially designed for use on all softwood and hardwood, untreated cladding timbers. The deep penetrating formula protects against fungal decay such as wet rot, wood discolouring fungus and wood boring insect attack. Provides a clear finish and contains resins and oils for water repellency and protection against weathering.
It can also be used on external walls such as doors, windows and their frames (inner & outer surfaces), facades, carports, shutters, summer houses, gates and balcony railings. Also for use where wood is resting on the ground / hard standing and only submitted to intermittent wetting, such as rain, on projects such as garden furniture.
Please note: it is not suitable to treat wood for any in-ground use or where the wood is permanently subjected to continual wetting such as joinery in streams and ponds.
Ensure that wooden surfaces to be treated with Barrettine Cladding Preserver are clean, dry and free from surface dirt, debris and other surface contaminates.
All sides and edges of the cladding should be treated before fixing with at least 2 coats to ensure adequate absorption into the fibres of the wood.
Wood treated with Barrettine Cladding Preserver can be easily maintained by applying a fresh maintenance coat on a yearly or 2 yearly basis as required.
