Barrettine Black Bitumen Paint can be used as a protection coat on numerous materials including metals, concrete, cement and wood. It can also be used as a priming coat or sealant on rough, porous or friable surfaces.
Always do a test area before starting any project to assess performance and compatibility, and follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.
Surfaces to be coated with Barrettine Bitumen Paint must be free from surface contaminates such as dirt, debris, rust or scale. Oil and grease should be removed by wiping with a lint-free cloth dampened with Barrettine White Spirit.
If required, a coat of anti-corrosive primer can be used on metal surfaces prior to applying Barrettine Black Bitumen Paint.
Do not apply black bitumen over tar-based products or normal pigmented paints, or surfaces that can rise above 65℃. Stir the contents of the tin thoroughly before and periodically during application to ensure consistent coverage and finish.
*When being sprayed, it is recommended that bitumen paint is thinned with white spirit for ease of application. This will require more coats than normal.
