Barrettine Timber Cut End Preserver - Clear is a solvent-based end grain preserver, made for use on timber which has been pressure treated with tanatone, giving a brown colouration.
Whenever tanatone treated timber, such as decking boards or fence panels are cut to size, notched or bored prior to fitting, the newly exposed surface should be re-treated with Barrettine Timber Cut End Preserver - Clear to maintain the level of protection against fungal and insect attack.
Freshly sawn ends should be free of wood dust and debris before applying Barrettine Timber Cut End Preserver - Clear.
Ensure surrounding areas, soil, plants and any aquatic environments are protected from splashes or spills.
Always do a test area before starting any project and follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times. Shake or stir well prior to application.
Please note: When using a dye or stain on the wood, it is recommended to apply this first before using the clear end grain. Do a test area to see the overall finish.
