Blanchon Oceanic Opaque Floor Varnish

Blanchon Oceanic Opaque Varnish is a water-based, coloured, opaque polyurethane varnish for interior wood and floors. Colours and masks imperfections in the wood like a paint whilst offering the technical, durable performance of a lacquer. This product utilises Blanchon's Air Protect technology, blocking 80% of formaldehyde emissions from the floor and absorbing up to 40% of formaldehyde emissions in the room, purifying the air for a healthy living environment.

Please Note: This product is not suitable for use on Ipe or Jatoba. Other types of exotic hard wood may need special preparation.

Ensure that floors to be treated are clean, dry and free from any traces of dust, dirt, detergent, grease, wax, polish or linseed oil. As a general rule, moisture content should be below 10%.

• Floors should be sanded back to bare wood (stripping and de-waxing are not recommended)
• To fill gaps in wooden floors, use a suitable wood filler

Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times.This product is ready to use, no mixing or dilution is required.

Do not apply if the temperature is below 12° with relative humidity of more than 85%. Do not apply to wood with more than 10% humidity. Use only in well-ventilated areas. Do not leave plants and aquariums in places where the product is used.

1. Stir thoroughly before and periodically during use
2. Apply with a microfibre roller in 3 regular and generous coats for maximum opacity (each coat provides increased opacity)
3. Use a brush for edges or small surfaces
4. Lightly sand (denib) by hand between the 2nd and 3rd coats to achieve the best finish
5. Take care to remove all traces of sanding dust before commencing the next coat
6. Do not use steel wool and do not wait more than 48 hours between coats

Blanchon Oceanic Opaque Floor Varnish hardens very quickly, thus enabling a rapid return to use of the area. Floors can accept light foot traffic after 10 - 12 hours, but precautions should be taken during the first 10 days: This product takes 8 - 10 days to fully harden in normal conditions.

• Do not cover floors with protective sheets
• Do not place carpets on the finished wood floor during this period
• Do not move heavy furniture
• Remove any dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom (do not use impregnated textiles)
• Then protect the floor with felt placed under table and chair legs
• If necessary, a good quality mat placed at the entrance to the room will help by retaining dust and gravel
• Clean up spillages of water and other liquids immediately, and be careful where you place flower and plant pots

Regular Cleaning

Remove dust regularly using a vacuum cleaner or a dustpan and broom. If necessary, wipe with a dampened, well-wrung lint-free cloth or mop (never soaking wet) with Blanchon Lagoon Cleaner or Blanchon Lagoon Cleaner Spray. Never use buffing machines, dust mops, silicone waxes, ammonia-based products or abrasive detergents.
