Blanchon Intensiv is a very high-build 2-component, water-based polyurethane lacquer specifically designed for all types of wooden floors in high-traffic areas. Perfect for shops, offices, hotels, restaurants and schools.

It's formula contains complex carbon resins, carefully selected for their unrivaled resistance to wear, abrasion and scratching and which do not react to potentially corrosive substances such as cleaning agents, disinfectant, alcohol, wine, or ink.

This product can also be used on interior concrete.

Preparation

Preparation

Back

Ensure that floors to be varnished are clean, dry and free from dust, dirt or any other surface contaminants.

Wooden Floor Preparation

  1. Sand old or new wood flooring to obtain a smooth, even surface. First, sand to bare wood with P24 or P36, then with P50 or P60 and finish with P100 or P120
  2. Hoover to remove all traces of sanding dust
  3. Fill any cracks and splits with Blanchon Resin Filler or any other suitable filler
  4. Sanded floors can be stained with Blanchon Wood-Ageing Agent and allow to dry
  5. Use Blanchon S.O. Primer to seal before overcoating, even if wood stains aren't being used

Concrete Floor Preparation

  1. Check the porosity of the material: one spoonful of water poured onto clean concrete should penetrate in 1 minute. Repeat this test in different areas
  2. Clean thoroughly and remove any previous finish, removing any dirt or residue with a vacuum cleaner, then with a damp mop and allow to dry

Application

Application

Back

Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times. Stir the varnish thoroughly before and periodically during use.

Mix 9 parts lacquer to 1 part catalyst by volume and mix well prior to use. The catalysed lacquer should be used within 90 minutes of mixing.

Do not lacquer floors if the surface temperature is below 12°C or the relative humidity is higher than 85%. In the case of application to concrete, the moisture content should be below 5%, checking in several places with a moisture meter.

Application to Wooden Floors

  1. Apply a generous coat in the direction of the grain with a short haired roller and allow to dry for 4 hours
  2. Do not wait more than 24 hours before applying the second coat
  3. Sand between between coats with a fine sanding disc on a buffing machine and remove all traces of dust with a vacuum cleaner
  4. Apply second coat in the same manner and allow to dry for 24 hours before resuming foot traffic and 10 days before re-instating rugs or covering with protective sheets
  5. Use suitable felt protection under the feet of tables and chairs. If necessary, a good quality mat placed at the entrance to the room will help by retaining dust and gravel

Application to Concrete Floors

  1. Apply 2 thin coats in the direction of the light using a short-haired roller, being careful to apply thinly, avoiding any over- or under-application
  2. Allow to dry for 24 hours before resuming foot traffic and 10 days before re-instating rugs or covering protective sheets
  3. Use suitable felt protection under the feet of tables and chairs. If necessary, a good quality mat placed at the entrance to the room will help by retaining dust and gravel
Cleaning of Tools

Clean tools with water immediately after use. Do not re-use containers

Areas that have been finished with Blanchon Intensiv can be maintained on a regular basis with Blanchon Lagoon Cleaner or Blanchon Cleaner Lisabril . Frequency of maintenance will depend on usage and traffic.

Any refinishing of a previously sealed floor using Intensiv should not be carried out before the wood has been sanded back to bare wood.

So glad I found this!
The perfect “bare” matte finish to our 125 years old Victorian floorboards. Easy to apply. Coverage stated is precisely what it did.

Great finish easy to use
Excellent finish... Does take a long time to mix thoroughly but after three coats (without primer) the results speak for themselves..

Easy to use
This was my first time finishing a floor. This product was very easy to use, and has provided an amazing finish, even for a first timer like me. Exactly what I was looking for.
