Wooden surfaces to be treated with Polyx Oil 2K must be clean, dry (max. 20% moisture content) and free from surface dirt and debris.
Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times.
Osmo Polyx Oil 2K Pure is not ready to use from the container. Add the hardener shortly before application. Please ensure that the packaging of the hardener is completely emptied and that both components are mixed thoroughly. Do not thin.
Please Note: Only when the surface is ready should the hardener be mixed with the oil due to the short working time (approximately 90 Mins) for this product.
Tip: If the buffing machine starts to leave streaks because of over-application of the oil, try turning the pad over or replacing it.
Surfaces finished with Osmo Polyx Oil 2K Pure are easy to clean and maintain. A broom, vacuum cleaner or microfibre mop, such as Osmo Micro Mop can be used for day-to-day floor care.
The floor may also be damp-mopped using the Osmo Spray Mop or with an alternative floor mop and using water with Osmo Wash and Care added. It's important to note that wooden floors should never be saturated with water and should only be cleaned with a dedicated cleaner specifically designed for oiled wooden floors. Household detergents and harsh cleaners can potentially damage or strip oil-based finishes over time.
For refreshing or intensive cleaning we recommend Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner. A higher level of sheen can be achieved by polishing the Liquid Wax Cleaner after thorough drying. Trial application is recommended.
Renovating, even partially, is easy. Just clean and re-treat worn areas with a thin coat of Osmo Polyx Oil 2K - no sanding or removal of previous Polyx Oil finish required. No repair marks will be visible if applied thinly and appropriately.
