Manns Trade Mix and Fill is a popular choice with floor finishers and joiners. It's fast drying properties and ability to produce a repair that better matches the surrounding wood means that it can be finished with a variety of wood finishes including wood oils, waxes, varnishes and paints.

Surfaces to be filled must be clean, dry and free from dust, dirt and other surface coatings and contaminants.
Please Note: Manns Mix and Fill has a high V.O.C content and therefore emits a strong odour. If using in confined spaces, ensure that windows and doors are open to allow for good ventilation.

Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times.
Mixing Guidelines
Mix 1 part of Manns Mix and Fill Wood Filler with 1 - 2 parts of clean sanding dust from 80 to 120 grit sanding to produce a paste with a smooth consistency. It's important to ensure that the sanding dust is clean and doesn't contain varnish, oil or other products that may have been on the surface of the wood. Use the dust from the second or third sanding which will be pure wood dust.
Application
- For best results, apply the filler with a straight edged tool
- Ensure that holes, splits and gaps are completely filled
- Once dry, sand with 100 - 120 grit sandpaper to achieve a smooth repair
Please Note: Using this product outside these guidelines can lead to immediate and latent problems with the integrity of the finish.

Once fully dry, Manns Trade Mix and Fill can be finished with a suitable varnish, wood oil or wood wax.

As every surface will be unique, with a variation of depths and widths in gaps/ holes etc there isn't really a one size fits all answer.

Good but still possible to see difference in colour when stained
It’s better to apply carefully without spreading around hole too much as it’s quite difficult to sand

Great product, does the job perfectly
one bit of advice to take is use a proper respirator for this product as the vapour is strong. But this is for safety. The product worked fantastic and dries very quick.

Used to fill parquet
I recently layed a reclaimed oak parquet flooring and was unsure what filler to use. Thought i would give this a try and it turned out to be just what i needed. Mixed it with the saw dust from sanding the floor. It does start to go off fairly quickly so you just add more to soften the mix. You must also ensure you thouroughly sand any overlap where you have filled as applying a wax finish over it leaves a patchy look

As expected
Works well, but the solvent smell is strong and remains for hours after application despite ventilation.

Very effective, but very high fumes
The product performs very well at filling between floor boards during the sanding process. However, this is a highly volatile organic compound and depending on coverage and ventilation may cause a good deal of nausea.
When used over large floors, the resulting fumes can be very uncomfortable, even with good ventilation. In such cases, work over smaller sections of a floor and take a break to let the fumes dissipate before continuing.
During sanding of 4 large rooms, two tins of this product were required. The filling process was the most uncomfortable of the project especially in the attic. I would recommend in such cases purchasing an effective VOC mask.
While a wood glue mixture would not produce the same end result, it is infinitely easier to tolerate than a resin filler.
