Manns Premier Door Oil is a premier grade door oil for all wooden interior doors. Based on a hard wax oil formula, it's highly durable, water, dirt, scuff and scratch resistant. It is easy to apply, maintain and patch repair making it ideal for busy domestic and commercial environments.
Please note: Always check the manufacturers label on the door or with the door manufacturer before applying a door finish to confirm suitability.
Ensure that doors to be oiled are clean, dry and free from dust, dirt or any other surface contaminants.
If a change of door colour is desired, softwood doors such as pine can be stained with Manns Classic Pine Stain whilst hardwood doors such as oak can be stained with Manns Classic Oak Stain to achieve the desired effect. If a solvent-based stain is preferred, use Manns Trade Light Fast Wood Stain.
Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.
Wooden doors can be wiped clean with a soft, lint-free cloth. Stubborn dirt, scuffs and shoe marks can be cleaned by using a dedicated pH balanced wood cleaner applied with a microfibre cloth. Never use household detergents or cleaners on oiled surfaces as they can degrade or strip the finish over time.
To maintain the finish and its protective properties, re-apply a fresh coat of Manns Premier Door Oil as and when required, following the Preparation and Application instructions above.
Here are some of the more commonly asked questions and answers about Manns door oil. If you are looking for an answer to a more general door finishing question, take a look at our door finishes FAQ page.
Is Manns Door Oil suitable for internal Oak doors?Manns Door Oil is perfect for a whole range of interior oak doors including solid wood, engineered and veneered. Made from a blend of natural oils and waxes the oil penetrates the surface grain of internal doors to protect them from grease, dirt, moisture, scuffs and stains. The microporous nature of oil finish means that it will not crack, peel, flake or blister. Always check with the door supplier or manufacturer to ensure that the door is suitable for oiling before applying any oil
Manns wood finishing products are our own brand and are distributed and sold from our premises in Folkestone. This said, next day delivery is available for most areas of the UK. Deliveries to most remote areas such as the highlands and islands can be achieved within 2 to 3 working days.
It would depend on how porous the wood is and whether there are any glass panes in the door. Manns recommend a coverage of up to 24m² per litre. From a 1 litre tin, you should get approx 4 doors finished on both sides.
