Ronseal Multi Purpose Wood Filler can be used for any small wood repairs. If the hole is deeper than 5mm, simply build up in layers.

Lightly sand the area to be filled, then wipe with a damp, lint-free cloth and allow to dry. The area should be clean, dry and free from dust, dirt or any other surface contaminants prior to filling.

Always do a small test area before beginning any project to assess the colour and compatibility of the filler once dry. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tub at all times.
- Push the filler firmly into the hole or crack
- Leave the filler slightly raised above the wood to make sure the repair is filled
- Before it dries, smooth it with a wet filling knife
- Fill deeper holes in 5mm layers, leaving 2 hours between each layer
After Use
Wash your tools in warm, soapy water. Make sure you put the plastic film back over the filler and tighten the lid so it does not dry out.

Once dry, filled surfaces can be overcoated with a suitable Ronseal wood paint, stain or varnish.

I'm using this on floorboards before varnishing. Do you buy a colour to match the original floorboards or to match the Ronseal Diamond Coloured Varnish?
You should try to match the filler to the natural colour of the wood for the best chance of the stain colouring the timber and the filler in the same manner.

Re-usable Wood Filler
Depending on the job you’re doing there are a range of wood fillers that may be better suited. This one is for smaller projects where you may need to use a small amount of filler from time to time. After use I simply add a couple of drops of water to the tub, cover with cling film then screw the lid back on. The filler won’t dry out that way and is ready whenever the next job comes up. It’s also quick drying if you want to progress your project a little bit faster.

No problem with the filler itself just the colour being described as "natural" - it should be called "slightly off-white", way too light for anything but the lightest of woods.

Easy to use
First time i have used Wood Finishes Direct and i loved the full descriptions of all the products and how to use, which is why i bought this! I had some decking panels that were rotten (small areas) was surprised at how well i managed to not only use this product but how well it repaired the wood - it’s saved me replacing some decking.
