Overview

Sandtex Microseal Ultra Smooth Masonry Paint is suitable for use on most sound, dry exterior masonry surfaces including Rendering, Roughcast, Pebbledash, Concrete, Building Blocks, Facing Bricks, Emulsion or Masonry Painted Surfaces.

For a more textured finish, try Sandtex Microseal Textured Masonry Paint.

Please Note: This product is not suitable for common or fletton type bricks.

This product has just had a name change from Sandtex Ultra Smooth Masonry Paint, however the formula is still the same.

Preparation

All surfaces must be sound, clean, dry and free from anything that will interfere with the adhesion of Sandtex paint.

New surfaces usually require little preparation, but must be completely dried out before painting
Treat any organic growth with a suitable mould and mildew cleaner, before brushing down the masonry surfaces to avoid spreading live spores - re-apply after brushing if necessary
Remove all loose and flaking material by scraping or brushing with a stiff bristle brush (not wire)
Chalking, weathered, powdery and porous surfaces should be brushed down and treated with a suitable stabilising solution

Application

Always do a test area before starting any project to check product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times. Do not apply if there is a risk of rain or frost or if the temperature will fall below 8°C (46°F) during drying.

Stir the paint thoroughly before and periodically during use.
Apply Sandtex Smooth Masonry Paint with a masonry brush or exterior roller
For best results, 2 coats are recommended
Leave 3-4 hours drying time between coats
When over-painting darker colours an extra coat may be required

Lovely colour, good cover and drying, quality

Great coverage from a quality paint

Sandtex gets used on many surfaces here - pebble dash, rough cast, stone, brick. Despite the ravages of Scottish weather this stands up to the elements and looks good year after year. Needed this tin as a vehicle had damaged the gate post and after restorative work and painting it is as good as new. The remainder is in case there is a similar accident - hopefully never.

Bought this to do the window sill

Bought the masonry paint to paint the window sill. I have used this paint before, albeit a few years back, to paint the exterior of the house. It is very good and lasts a long time. I would highly recommend this to anyone

Easy to apply and a good smooth finish

Goes on nice and smooth over sanded back masonry paint and exterior filler. Does well at hiding the imperfections in the surface. Apply quite thick coats initially for smoothest finish, but not so thick it runs.
