Overview

Prestonett Waterproof Masonry Filler is resistant to rain, saltwater and saltpeter. It can be applied to a wide range of substrates including concrete, cement, bricks and stone, with the added benefit of being waterproof from a minimum of a 3mm thickness. The filler also has flexible properties and protects reinforced concrete against the carbonation process and has a working time of 30 minutes, which makes it ideal for repairing and shaping window sills and mouldings.

Preparation

Back

Before Prestonett Waterproof Masonry Filler can be applied, the project area needs to be free of debris and dust.

  • Remove any loose or crumbling material that might hinder the adhesion to the substrate
  • Ensure the area is relatively smooth by sanding the project to provide a level and clean surface

Application

Back

Always do a test area to gauge compatibility and the suitability of the final finish. Also, follow the manufacturer's instructions to achieve the best results

  • Do not apply in conditions that are below 5°C or above 35°C
  • Mix Prestonett Waterproof Masonry Filler by gradually adding water until a homogenous paste is created and apply immediately.
  • Apply to the project area with the use of a suitable tool, such as a Mako Filler Knife ensuring the repair is being filled from the bottom to the top
  • For best results ensure the repair is fully filled and avoids any air pockets
  • To clean the tools afterwards just use warm soapy water to wash away the residue
