Holzol Weather Oil

Holzol Weather Oil provides the perfect solution for all your exterior weather protection needs. It is ideal for use on timber cladding, doors, windows, sheds, fences, conservatories, garden furniture and more.

• For wooden decking, consider Holzol Decking Oil. Available in both clear and a range of attractive colours

Ensure that wooden surfaces are clean, dry and free from surface dirt and debris by brushing with a stiff brush or lightly sanding prior to applying Holzol Weather Oil.

• Remove all coatings such as paint, varnish wood sealers and stains by sanding or with a paint & varnish remover
• Once sanded or stripped, thoroughly remove traces of sanding dust, dirt and grease by cleaning surfaces with a lint-free cloth dampened with white spirit before oiling

Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.

This product is ready-to-use from the tin, do not thin. Stir thoroughly prior and periodically during application.

1. Apply an even film of Holzol Weather Oil with a natural bristle brush or microfibre roller
2. Allow 10-12 hours to dry, then lightly denib / abrade with a finishing pad or 220 / 240 silicon carbide abrasive
3. Apply a second coat of oil, as above
4. For added protection, finish with a coat of clear UV Holzol Weather Oil

Please Note: Using these products in systems outside these guidelines can lead to immediate and latent problems with the integrity of the finish.

Regular Cleaning

For smooth exterior wooden surfaces, this product can be cleaned using a damp, lint-free cloth.

Please Note: Oiled wooden surfaces should not be cleaned with household detergents, bleach or harsh cleaners as these may degrade or breakdown the oiled finish.

Maintenance

If the finish becomes tired looking or worn, abrade with 240 / 320 silicon carbide abrasive and apply a further coat of Holzol Weather Oil, following the Preparation and Application instructions above.
