Preparation

Preparation

Back

For the best results, ensure surfaces to be coated are structurally sound, free from all defective or poorly adhering material and clean from dirt, grease, rust or paint.

  • Put down dust sheets to protect anything you don't want to get paint on
  • Loose rust, flaking paint or debris will need to be removed prior to coating, using a wire brush, sanding or light blast cleaning
  • If the metal surface is already painted then clean with a suitable detergent, thoroughly rinse and allow to dry
  • Repair any cracks or holes with a suitable metal filler and allow to harden
  • Lightly abrade smooth metal surfaces to form a sound key. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry

Application

Application

Back

Always perform a small test area to assess colour and compatibility of the finish.

  • If there is any adverse reaction, this will appear with 1 hour. If a reaction occurs, remove all paint and wash down with a degreaser. Rinse with warm water and allow to dry.

Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.

  • Ideally, apply avoiding extremes of temperature, between 8-35°c
  • Lightly stir the paint and do not mix vigorously
  • Apply using a good quality synthetic brush or microfibre roller
  • For best results, 2 thin coats are recommended
  • Leave 4 hours drying time between coats

Excellent
Does what it should do but will be years before I can confirm long term protection.
