Crown Trade Covermatt Drywall Primer is a water based primer that has been developed to even out surface porosity on new dry lined walls and ceilings. It can also be used as a mist coat for new plaster where access to water is difficult, it provides the perfect base for first decoration products.

Ideal for use under Crown Trade Covermatt Obliterating Emulsion.

To achieve the best results it is important that all surfaces must be sound, clean, suitably dry and free from anything that will interfere with the adhesion of the materials to be applied.

New Surfaces

  1. On polished or dense surfaces use Crown Trade PX3 All Purpose Primer or where a water-based alternative is required Crown Trade PX4 All Purpose Primer

Always make a test area before the application to judge the suitability of the product. Follow the manufacturer's instructions at all times.

For interior use only. Do not apply when air or substrate temperatures are likely to fall below 8°C or when the relative humidity is above 80% during application or the drying period.

  • Stir well before and during use
  • Apply undiluted using either a good quality synthetic brush, medium pile roller or spray
  • For airless spray, dilution should not be required. For further information follow the spray manufacturer's guidelines
  • Under normal drying conditions touch dry in 1-2 hours and recoat after 4 hours
  • Allow for adequate ventilation during the drying period
