Barrettine Premier Woodworm Killer Spray

Barrettine Premier Woodworm Killer Spray contains permethrin, and is a quick and effective way of killing woodworm and their larvae. It is ideal for use on ceiling and floor joists, floorboards, wooden beams, wooden furniture and doors.

Identifying Woodworm

Woodworm infestation can be recognised by small round holes on the surface of the timber and the gritty bore-dust that is left behind. These holes are most likely to be found near joints or on the undersides or backs of furniture. Whilst holes indicate that woodworm beetles have emerged, it is likely that their larvae remain in the wood.

Barrettine Woodworm Killer kills all common insects, including Common Furniture Beetle, House Longhorn Beetle, Powder Post Beetle and wood boring Weevils, and larvae and eggs when in direct contact.

Ensure that the wood to be treated with Barrettine Woodworm Killer is clean, dry and free from dust.

• Any previous finishes, such as paint, stain and varnish, must be completely removed by either sanding back to bare wood or using a dedicated product stripper / remover
• Special precautions should be taken when removing pre-1960's paint surfaces over wood as they may contain harmful lead

Always do a small test area before starting any project to confirm performance and compatibility, and follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times. Do not apply in conditions of high humidity or if rain is likely before the product has fully dried. Avoid contact with plastics and roofing felt.

1. Spray the surface to be treated, ends and joints, paying particular attention to the end grain, corners and crevices
2. It is recommended 2 applications are made to ensure the correct coverage is achieved. Insufficient application may not kill existing infestations nor prevent future attacks
3. Allow at least one hour between applications to enable the first treatment to fully absorb into the wood

Once dry, areas treated with Barrettine Premier Woodworm Killer Spray are ready to be treated with a wood preserver to protect against future infestations and finished with an appropriate wood oil, paint or stain.
