Overview

Back

Zinsser Write-On Paint is a 2-component, white coating for transforming walls, doors and more into dry-wipe surfaces. Perfect for use in the home, schools, colleges, universities and offices and works on a range of surfaces. Quick and easy application.

Zinsser Write-On Paint contains:

  • 1 x 2L Zinsser Write-On Paint Base, Part A
  • 1 x 500ml Zinsser Write-On Paint Activator, Part B
  • 1 x Large microfibre roller

Please Note: Whilst most dry-wipe markers are suitable, it is recommended to check ease of removal of your chosen dry-wipe pen on a small test area first.

Preparation

Preparation

Back

Ensure all surfaces are free from any dust, dirt, wax, grease, oil or other surface contaminants that could affect the adhesion of the coating.

For best results, apply over white or light coloured vinyl silk or acrylic eggshell

Bare or New surfaces

  1. Fill any cracks and holes in surfaces using an appropriate filler
  2. Prime the substrate first using Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3, following the manufacturers instructions at all times
  3. Once dry, apply a white or light coloured vinyl silk or eggshell emulsion
  4. Use a low tack masking tape to mark out the desired area to be coated

Please note: Do not apply directly over vinyl matt or weak bonding coatings

Application

Application

Back

Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions at all times.

  1. Pour half of the activator, Part B into the base paint, Part A and stir well until mixed
  2. Add the remainder of Part B and stir the paint thoroughly for 2 minutes
  3. Apply a single coat using the microfibre roller provided, alternatively use a short-pile mohair roller
  4. Use a good quality synthetic brush for edging if needed
  5. The coating is touch dry in 4 hours, fully dry in 16 hours and fully cured (writable) in 5 days at 20°C, allow longer in cooler temperatures

Please note: Once activated, the coating has an open time of 4 hours

Cleaning Equipment

After use, brushes and rollers can be cleaned using white spirit.
