Sandtex Microseal Fine Textured Masonry Paint

All surfaces must be sound, clean, dry and free from dirt, grease, dust and loose material that may affect adhesion. Proper preparation is essential to achieve a durable, even textured finish on exterior masonry surfaces.

• New render, concrete and masonry surfaces should be fully cured and completely dry before painting
• Remove all loose, peeling or flaking coatings by scraping and brushing with a stiff bristle brush
• The fine textured finish is ideal for older masonry, rough render and slightly uneven exterior surfaces where a smoother coating may highlight imperfections
• Treat mould, algae and organic growth with a suitable mould and mildew cleaner before painting
• Weathered, chalky and porous surfaces should be brushed down and treated with a suitable stabilising solution, such as Sandtex Quick Drying Stabilising Solution before application
• Due to the textured finish, coverage rates may vary depending on surface texture and porosity

We recommend trialing a test area before starting your project to check suitability, coverage and final finish. Fine textured coatings can appear slightly different depending on surface texture, lighting conditions and application method, so testing in an inconspicuous area is always recommended. For consistent colour, intermix packs before application if using more than one batch.

For best results, apply in dry conditions when temperatures remain above 8°C during application and drying. Do not apply during rain, frost or damp conditions, or if temperatures are likely to fall below 8°C before the coating has fully dried.

Please Note: This product is not suitable for common, fletton or engineering type bricks.

• Stir thoroughly before use and periodically during application to maintain an even textured consistency and colour.
• Apply evenly using a good quality masonry brush or long pile exterior roller suitable for textured masonry coatings.
• Apply 2 full coats to achieve a durable, waterproof and evenly textured finish.
• Allow approximately 3-4 hours drying time between coats under normal drying conditions.
• Additional coats may be required on highly porous surfaces or when covering darker colours.
• Clean brushes, rollers and equipment with clean water immediately after use.

To help maintain the appearance and long term durability of exterior masonry surfaces, regularly remove surface dirt, traffic film, algae and organic growth using a soft brush and a suitable exterior masonry cleaner. Routine cleaning will help preserve the textured finish and keep exterior walls looking fresher for longer.

Inspect exterior surfaces periodically for signs of damage, movement or weathering, particularly on older render, roughcast and exposed masonry surfaces. Any loose or damaged areas should be repaired before applying additional coats of Sandtex Microseal Fine Textured Masonry Paint to maintain a consistent textured finish and long lasting weather protection.
