Overview
Protek Wood Stain and Protect weatherproofs and protects a wide range of exterior timber, masonry and terracotta. Available as a clear or coloured finish. Creates a quick-drying microporous coating that contains mould inhibitors to protect the coating. Once dry it is not harmful to plants, children or animals making it the perfect choice not only for fencing and sheds, but playhouses and animal housing.
Please note: This product is not suitable for decking.

Surfaces should be cleaned with warm water, detergent and a stiff brush. Make sure that all mould or algae is removed and rinse substrate well. Ensure that timber is fully dry. For the best results, previous treatments should be removed or well weathered.
If coating new wood, it is recommended that a suitable wood preservative treatment is used and allowed to fully dry before application.

Mix well before use. Protek Wood Stain & Protect is of a stain consistency that allows it to be easily applied by a garden sprayer, brush or roller. Do not apply in temperatures below 5°C or if wet weather is expected within 48 hours.
- Apply 2 full, flowing coats
- Application of a third coat will enhance depth and solidarity of the colour
- Allow each coat to dry before applying the next
- Splashes and drips can only be cleaned with warm water and detergent whilst still wet
Keep freshly coated surfaces safe from animals and small children for 48 hours or until surfaces are dry.
Cleaning Equipment
Remove excess product from the brush or roller and wash with warm water and detergent. Wash all sprayer components immediately after use with warm water and detergent.

Maintain Protek Wood Stain and Protect every 2 - 5 years or as required by cleaning the surface of the wood and following the preparation and application instructions above.

What type of mould inhibitor is in the Protek Stain and Protect as it says that the paint is safe for children and pets.
Protek Wood Stain and Protect contains a borate fungicide. This is a natural borate mineral salt. This natural form of boron is naturally good for plants and is harmless to people and animals. This borate is said to be only half as dangerous for humans and animals as table salt, yet it is effective against fungi and insects.

Easy application, good coverage

I'm totally satisfied with this wood stain
So easy to apply, especially with a foam brush. One coat, and the wood grain shows through. Two coats and the colour is deeper. Three coats and the finish is completely opaque. It's a similar finish to paint. Use Protek Clear Tough Coat to protect the stain from wear and the "job's a good 'un". Fantastic stuff and not too expensive either. I love it.

Excelent product
I have used this product for several years and I love the chesnut once you put it on and it is dry if you put water on it it bubbles and runs off I have tried other staines on the market but they cannot match this

A very nice finish
I really like this product for it's easy of application and finished result. Yes, 3 coats is better than 2 but drying times are quick and 3 coats on a reasonably warm day are achievable. The stain penetrates well as I found out when sanding back a dried spillage.

Such a pleasure to use
Bought to paint old garden seat and various other wooden items. I have got through a lot of black stain and paint over the years and can honestly say this was the nicest and most reasonably priced. Time will tell on how it lasts
