Overview
Protek Stable Coat incorporates an ultra-high performance water repellent additive that uses nanotechnology to deliver an extreme hydrophobic layer of protection.
It is designed for the water-proofing of pressure treated timber buildings and offers excellent long term protection for stables, wooden outhouses, rabbit hutches, chicken coups, turkey sheds, kennels and other types of animal housing. Dries to a matt, soft sheen finish.

Ensure the wood to be treated is clean, dry and free from dust, dirt or any other surface contaminants.
- Remove any biological growth such as mould and algae with a suitable mould and mildew cleaner
- If required, use a suitable wood preserver before application, such as Protek Wood Preserver Plus
- Fill any gaps or splits in the wood with a suitable wood filler

Always do a test area before starting any project to test product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times.
- Mix thoroughly before and periodically during use
- Apply two coats of Protek Stable Coat by pump-up garden sprayer, brush or roller
- Allow 3 hours between coats
- Extra coats will further enhance the colour and give more time before re-treatment is required
- Do Not apply in temperatures below 5°C
- Do Not apply to damp, wet or frozen timber
- Do Not apply if wet weather is expected within 48 hours

Regular Cleaning
Smooth wooden surfaces can be wiped down with a damp, lint-free cloth on a regular basis. A dedicated exterior wood cleaner may be used as and when required.
Maintenance
To maintain the finish and its protective qualities, simply apply a single coat of Protek Stable Coat as and when required.

Seems to have done the job but still early
Afternoon. Bought this to go over the top of Protek Wood Preserver, I did a bit of reading and thought it the best option with the timber I was treating and for longevity. If I was to do it again I'd probably call the helpline but to late now. It was to treat a pine bee hive so went pale green. Initial thoughts were it wasn't very green but it dried pretty nicely and should be ok as a bit of camouflage for the hives. No idea how many coats I put on as I was doing one in the morning and one at night for a few days in the garage so it bound together. Seems pretty waterproof but time will tell. I'd get it again on initial thoughts but it covers so much I can't see me needing any for a while. Cheers . Nige T

A bit watery but water resistant !
I found the liquid very watery and wonder in hindsight whether I should've used a spray instead of a brush.
I painted fencing on warm sunny days. Although the fencing was dry thanks to the sunny weather recently I thought that the coverage was quite poor.
I'd also advise not to wait 4 hours between coats as the first coat starts to repel moisture quicker than that.
Only 5ft x 4 ft fencing but still used 12 5 litres. So coverage an issue.
