Manns Classic Beeswax Polish

Bare or New Wood

1. Ensure that wood surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust and dirt prior to applying Manns Beeswax Polish
2. If required, fill any gaps or splits in the wood with Manns Trade Mix and Fill or other suitable wood filler
3. Sand smooth taking care to remove all traces of sanding dust with a vacuum cleaner
4. If required, wipe down with a white (uncoloured) lint-free cloth dampened with methylated spirit to clean and degrease prior to applying the wax polish

Previously Waxed Wood

1. Clean previously waxed surfaces with a white (uncoloured) lint-free cloth dampened with white spirit
2. Rub gently to remove surface dust and dirt
3. To retain the patina of old wax and polish finishes, apply Manns Classic Beeswax Polish directly over the old finish
4. Alternatively, old wax and polish finishes can be removed if required using Liberon Wax and Polish Remover

Staining

Wood surfaces can be stained prior to applying Manns Beeswax Polish if a particular colour is desired.

• For softwoods such as Pine, we recommend using Manns Classic Pine Stain
• For hardwoods such as Oak, we recommend using Manns Classic Oak Stain
• For furniture and other interior wood exposed to direct sunlight, we recommend Manns Trade Light Fast Wood Stain

Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times.

1. Manns Classic Beeswax Polish can be quickly and easily applied with a soft, lint-free cloth
2. Apply the wax polish sparingly, working on one small area at a time
3. For bare wood 2 - 3 coats are recommended, or 1 - 2 coats for pre-finished wooden surfaces
4. Additional coats can be applied if required
5. A thin coat will dry within 10 minutes, a thick coat will dry in around 20 minutes

To achieve a deep lustre, buff the freshly applied Wax with a soft, lint-free cloth or buffing brush.

Maintenance

Surfaces are normally re-coated every 12-18 months, although many people re-wax on a more regular basis. Additional coats of beeswax polish will offer an improved patina.

Repair

Areas that become scuffed or marked can be easily repaired by gently rubbing the damaged area with a Woodleys Finishing Pad or similar abrasive material, then re-applying Manns Classic Beeswax Polish to the damaged area for an invisible repair.
