Crown Trade Clean Extreme Mould Inhibiting Scrubbable Matt

Before painting, ensure all surfaces are sound, clean and suitably dry. Remove any contamination or loose material that could prevent the paint from adhering.

1. Remove peeling or poorly adhering paint and feather the edges of the remaining sound coating

5. Repair holes, cracks and shallow defects with a suitable filler, such as Prestonett Ready Mixed Interior and Exterior Filler. Once dry, sand smooth and remove the dust
6. Wet abrade sound gloss or eggshell coatings to provide a key, then rinse away residues and allow to dry
7. Seal powdery surfaces with a suitable stabilising solution, such as Sandtex Quick Drying Stabilising Solution
8. Prime porous walls and ceilings with a mist coat of Crown Trade Clean Extreme Mould Inhibiting Scrubbable Matt diluted with 20-40% clean water by volume
9. Prime polished or dense surfaces with a suitable adhesion Primer, following the primer manufacturer's preparation and overcoating instructions
10. Patch prime bare and filled areas as appropriate for the surface. Touch in repairs made after priming with the same primer or diluted mist coat
11. Where contamination remains that could cause staining or bleeding, patch prime with a suitable stain-blocking primer

Preparation for Wood and Metal Surfaces

1. On bare wood, remove dust and wipe away timber oils or extractives with methylated spirits. Treat knots with two coats of Colron Knotting Solution, fill defects, sand smooth and apply a suitable primer undercoat
2. On previously painted wood, remove failing paint and sand away grey or weathered timber. Treat exposed knots with a suitable knotting solution, fill defects, clean and wet abrade sound paint, then spot prime bare areas with a suitable primer undercoat
3. Remove rust and millscale from iron and steel back to clean, bright metal. Remove residues and apply a suitable metal primer, within the same working day, following the primer manufacturer's instructions
4. Pre-treat bright galvanised metal with a suitable T Wash, following its instructions, before applying a suitable metal primer. Prime bare non-ferrous metals with a primer specified for the metal concerned
5. Clean and wet abrade sound paint on previously decorated metal. Spot prime exposed metal, allow to dry and apply a suitable primer undercoat overall

Always apply to a small test area first to check suitability, colour and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions at all times.

Ensure you have enough Crown Trade Clean Extreme Mould Inhibiting Scrubbable Matt to complete the project, allowing extra for future touch-ups. When using more than one tin of the same colour, mix the contents together before application to ensure colour consistency.

For interior use only. Do not apply if air or surface temperatures are likely to fall below 8°C, or if relative humidity exceeds 80%, during application or drying.

7. Maintain adequate ventilation throughout application and drying
8. Clean brushes, rollers and equipment immediately after use with clean water or warm soapy water, then rinse thoroughly

Please note: Allow one week for the paint to become fully cured and scrubbable. Avoid washing or scrubbing the finish before this time.
