Crown Trade Clean Extreme Mould Inhibiting Acrylic Eggshell

Crown Trade Clean Extreme Mould Inhibiting Acrylic Eggshell offers a finish that is more stain resistant by 100% when compared to conventional emulsions and can be scrubbed in excess of 10,000 times. Can be applied by either a roller, brush or spray and is suitable for interior walls and ceilings.

To achieve the finest results it is essential to ensure the project area is clean, dry and structurally sound, free from any poorly adhering materials or imperfections

• All substandard old, flawed and peeling paint will need to be removed, either by sanding or with the use of a paint scraper
• Extra precautions should be taken when removing the surface of pre-1960s paint substrates as they could possibly contain hazardous levels of lead
• Eradicate all organic growth, such as lichen, mould, algal or fungal growths, with an antifungal compound, such as Sandtex Fungicidal Wash
• Dirt, grease and dusty or powdery residues need to be removed by washing the area with an appropriate detergent
• Flaws in the substrate, such as small holes or cavities and cracks, need to be be plugged, sealed and fixed with a suitable filler and then sanded smooth
• Powdery or dusty substrates need to be sealed with an appropriate sealant, such as Sandtex Quick Drying Stabilising Solution
• Ensure the cleanliness of the project area by washing the surface with a suitable detergent to remove any residue of dust, grime or grease, then rinse clean and allow to fully dry
• It is recommended to coat porous and absorbent surfaces with a mist coat comprising of Crown Trade Clean Extreme Mould Inhibiting Acrylic Eggshell diluted with 40% clean water
• Polished or shiny surfaces need to be primed with a suitable primer, such as Crown Trade PX3 All Purpose Primer or Crown Trade PX4 All Purpose Primer if a water based primer is needed
• If the surface is still contaminated with staining or bleeding, then patch prime with Crown Trade PX4 All Purpose Primer to help eliminate the blemish

Always produce a test area before the application to gauge the appropriateness and final finish of the product. Follow the manufacturer's instructions at all times.

To guarantee the regularity of colour throughout the application, ensure enough supplies of Crown Trade Clean Extreme Mould Inhibiting Acrylic Eggshell for the project area, including a sufficient amount for touch-in at a later time

Do not apply if the air or substrate temperatures are likely to be below 8° or to exceed 80% humidity

• Stir and blend the paint, ensuring to work through the bottom and edges of the tin to guarantee an even mixture of the pigment within the paint
• Apply with a high quality roller for the walls and a good quality brush for cutting in the corners and around fittings and fixtures
• If Crown Trade Clean Extreme Mould Inhibiting Acrylic Eggshell is being applied by spray, then refer to the manufacturer's instructions for the recommended dilution ratio
• The usual finishing process requires 2 full coats of Crown Trade Clean Extreme Mould Inhibiting Acrylic Eggshell, however this can change and depends on the darkness of the substrate

Please note: Crown Trade Clean Extreme Mould Inhibiting Acrylic Eggshell will take one week to become fully cured and scrubbable

Cleaning

Painted surfaces can be gently wiped with a damp cloth combined with a mild detergent to eliminate surface scuffs and marks.

Maintenance

To preserve the finish, simply apply a fresh coat of Crown Trade Clean Extreme Mould Inhibiting Acrylic Eggshell as required, following the Preparation and Application instructions above.

Please note: A small residue of colour may be wiped away when the newly painted surface is first cleaned. This is entirely normal and does not compromise the integrity of Crown Trade Clean Extreme Mould Inhibiting Acrylic Eggshell in any way.

Although you can paint over it, on subjectable areas, we would recommend overcoating using another mould inhibiting paint.
