Bona Mix and Fill Plus is a high solids wood filler for mixing with wood dust, for the quick and efficient filling of gaps and cavities in wooden floors. Can be sanded within 30 to 60 minutes of application and is suitable for a wide range of wood types including Oak and Pine.
- Also available: Bona Mix and Fill the original formulation suitable for darker wood types
- Alternatively, try Bona Gap Master For filling gaps between floor boards and skirting boards

Ensure the floor to be filled is acclimatised to its end-use environment. Floors should be dry and free from dust, dirt, wax and any other surface contaminants.
- Sand the floor back to bare wood and to grit 60-80 (before making the final cut)
- Collect up the sanding dust for use with the Mix and Fill

Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability end result. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times.
The temperature of the room and the product must not fall below 13°C during application and drying. Shake container thoroughly before use.
- Mix the product in a container with fine, clean wood dust to a smooth consistency
- Recommended mixing ratio is 10-15% wood dust to 85-90% filler
- Apply the mixture across the whole floor using a stainless steel trowel, such as the Bona Flat Bladed Trowel
- When the surface is dry, sand off all excess product using a 100 to 120 grit abrasive

Once dry, Bona Mix and Fill Plus can be overcoated with any of the following Bona primers and/or floor varnishes:

How does this differ from the normal Bona Mix & Fill?
The Mix & Fill Plus can be used to fill defects & gaps up to 3mm wide as opposed to 2mm on the normal Mix & Fill. Dry times also differ.

Useful stuff
A little surprised by how much product I need to mix in to get the right consistency (a little more than the recommended ratio after trial-and-error). Some 3mm gaps filled using the mixture came loose after sanding. It could be due to user error though!
