Bona Classic UX Primer is a one-component, waterborne, acrylic primer designed to effectively seal softwood and hardwood floors prior to varnishing.
It is especially well suited for use on hardwood flooring with underfloor heating, softwood plank floors, end-grain floors and most other types of wooden flooring.

Wooden floors should be clean, dry and free of all surface contaminants such as waxes, oils, grit, dirt and dust prior to application.
- For the best results, surfaces to be treated must be sanded back to bare wood
- Remove all traces of sanding dust with a vacuum cleaner prior to priming
- For filling gaps between floor boards and skirting boards, use Bona Gap Master
- For filing holes, splits, dents and other surface imperfections, use Bona Mix and Fill or Bona Mix and Fill Plus

Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times. Stir well before use. Optimal conditions are between 18-25°C during application and drying.
Note: It is not recommended to apply more than two full coats per day due to risk of excessive wood swelling. Bona Classic UX must only be used directly onto raw wood. It must not be used in conjunction with stains or oils, or to overcoat other finishes.
Species of tropical wood or softwoods, such as Teak, Smoked Oak or Wenge, contain natural ingredients, including but not limited to, tannins, oils, or resins. These natural ingredients, which can lead to lengthening of the drying time, wetting issues or colour changes and it is recommended that the timber species is identified, with a trial application carried out before coating.
- Apply the primer evenly, using a Bona Lacquer Roller or Bona Swivel Head Applicator, avoiding accumulation.
- Care should be taken to achieve a uniform level of timber saturation to avoid colour variation
- Always maintain a "wet edge" to avoid overlaps
- Allow to dry thoroughly
There is no need for sanding before application of a suitable Bona top coat

Bona Classic UX Primer should never be used as a stand-alone treatment for timber floors. Once dry, one of the following Bona varnishes must be applied:

Perfect base layer for Mega Bona
This primer, combined with Mega Bona Varnish gives a beautiful finish.
