Overview
Bona Care Oil has been designed for maintaining floors previously finished with Bona Craft Oil 2K, once signs of wear start to appear.
The Neutral version can be used over all colours in the Craft Oil and Craft Oil 2K range to enhance the natural colour. The White version can be used over the top of the Frost coloured Craft Oil, and the Grey version can be used over the Ash, Light Grey and Dark Grey coloured Craft Oils to enhance the colour.
Please Note: this product cannot be used on oiled surfaces which have then been overcoated with the range of Bona Traffic HD floor varnishes.
Preparation
If necessary, the previously oiled surface should be thoroughly cleaned using Bona Oil Soap and allowed to dry before applying Bona Care Oil.
Application
Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.
Allow product to reach room temperature and shake the container thoroughly before use. Minimum temperature for use is 16°C.
- Distribute the oil thinly with a Bona Microfiber Applicator Pad or Bona Microfiber Cleaning Pad fitted under a buffing machine
- Remove any excess oil with a clean, lint-free cotton cloth and allow to fully dry
Cleaning Equipment
Clean tools with white spirit. Dried material can also be removed with white spirit.
Aftercare
Regular Cleaning
Clean the floor regularly using the Bona Spray Mop for Oiled Floors. This method is particularly ideal for domestic environments.
Apply Bona Care Oil W frequently to ensure that the pores of the wood remain saturated and unable to pick up dirt and moisture. The frequency of this operation is determined by the level of wear and may range from every 3rd year in a domestic environment to a few times a year in a commercial environment.
