Overview

Overview

Back

Bedec Acrylic Floor Paint is a tough, durable self-crosslinking coating that provides stain resistance and is environmentally friendly. With being self priming and non-slip, it can provide protection to the following surfaces:

  • Cement
  • Rendering stone
  • MDF
  • Chipboard
  • Hard and soft wood
  • Most types of plastic

Preparation

Preparation

Back

To achieve the best results the project area needs to be clean, free of dust and debris.

  • Ensure the project area is free of any dust and debris
  • Any holes, cracks and surface defects need to be filled and sanded smooth to produce an even and flat surface
  • If applying to a polished and shiny surface, slightly abrade to produce a slightly keyed surface to help the paint adhere properly
  • Remove any traces of oil and grease from the project area with a suitable detergent and then rinse away any residue
  • Where there is a risk of wood staining, apply an appropriate stain blocker before applying the paint
  • Metal surfaces will need to be primed before the application and newly planed wood will need to be abraded to open the grain and allow better adhesion and penetration of the substrate
  • Wash the project area thoroughly to remove any remains of dust and debris and allow to thoroughly dry

Application

Application

Back

Always do a test area to judge the suitability and the final finish. Also, for optimum results, follow the manufacturer's instructions.

  • If the paint is being applied to a new surface of wood, cement or any porous substrate then treat the area with a coat of 40% diluted paint with water to act as a sealant and stop the area being overly porous
  • Do not apply in temperatures less than 8° centigrade
  • Ensure the paint is well mixed before applying, using a suitable stirrer, such as Mako Paint Stirrer, helping the pigment to be well blended
  • Apply with either a roller or brush, ensuring an even coverage
  • To achieve a solid and opaque coverage then 2 coats will be needed
  • Recoatable after 4 hours drying time
  • To clean the tools after the application, just use warm soapy water

Brilliant product
Incase using Ronseal Dimond Hard floor paint for years. It started to become faulty and needed 3 coats. Bedec is so much better. One or two coats maximum provides a great finish.

Brilliant Product
We have been using Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor paint for years. But we have notice that the paint has become very poor in its quality for some time. It takes around 4 coats to get a decent coverage onto raw materials. We gave this paint a try and it was a complete game changer. 2 coats and the finish is perfect. Would highly recommend!

Good stuff
Great paint on concrete floor, no primer or other prep just cleaned floor. Walk on dry within 2hours ( outside). Ordered light gray but too white so added battleship gray to darken. Still a bit lighter than wanted. But great paint.

Great product!
Easy to apply and one of very few low voc paints available, it went on smoothly requiring only one coat. I used it on my garage steps and would recommend!

Very good indeed, good coverage and easy to use product
Being an ex decorator of45 yrs experience this was a well balanced paint especially after a second coat and very good drying time, touch dry in less than two hrs, the main thing is good preparation l cleaned the floor with a solution of sugar soap to remove all dirt and grease make sure it is compleatly dry before you apply your first coat, l allowed a good 24 hrs before the second coat excelland results and would recommend this product every time for painting a floor.
