Overview

Overview

Back

ArmourFlex Enriched Floor Varnish is a professional, water-based floor varnish for domestic and light commercial use. It reacts with the oxygen in the air to create internal cross-links for a stronger coating. It also utilises a unique blend of ceramic particles in the formula to provide greater strength and protection from stains.

ArmourFlex Enriched Floor Varnish enhances the natural colour of the wood, giving a deep and full finish.

Please note: This product can be used on veneered or engineered flooring but not laminated flooring.

Preparation

Preparation

Back

Previously waxed, polished or oiled floors cannot be overcoated with ArmourFlex Floor Varnish unless sanded back to bare wood. Floors to be varnished must be clean, dry and free of all dust, dirt and other surface contaminates.

  1. Sand floors back to bare wood, using P60/P80, removing all previous coatings
  2. Final sanding should be done with a P120 sanding disc, screen or good quality sandpaper
  3. Fill all gaps and splits in the wood with a suitable filler and sand smooth if necessary
  4. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove all traces of sanding dust from the area to be varnished
  5. Shake container thoroughly and allow bubbles to settle before use

Application

Application

Back

Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Thoroughly read and follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times.

  1. Apply thinly using a roller or a t-bar floor applicator
  2. Start at the edges and then roll with a smooth flowing action across and with the grain of the wood
  3. Allow to dry for 2 hours before applying the second coat
  4. If necessary, lightly sand or denib using a disc sander or sanding screen at P240 or finer before applying the final coat
  5. Allow 16 hours dry time before resuming foot traffic to newly treated area

Wooden floors should never be saturated with water as part of a cleaning routine as this will significantly reduce longevity and performance of the finish. Never use household cleaners / detergents as these may degrade or damage the finish.
