Overview
An easy to apply high quality flexible acrylic caulk sealer that contains an anti crack formula to fill any gaps between walls, ceilings and woodwork, such as skirting boards, windows or doorframes. Designed for interior and exterior use in dry weather , Siroflex SX Anti Crack Acrylic Caulk is virtually odourless, provides excellent adhesion to the substrate and is fully compatible with the ProDec Extra Strong Caulking Gun.
Preparation
To achieve the best results, the surfaces need to be structurally sound, clean, dry and free from dirt, dust or any other surface contaminants.
- Clear all flaking and old, substandard paint either by sanding or with the use of a paint scraper
- Extra precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces as they may contain harmful levels of lead
- If organic growth exists, such as mould, fungal, algal or lichen growths, then apply an antifungal wash
- Wash the surface to remove any dirt, grease and dusty or powdery residues
- If required, rub down surfaces and then wipe off with a damp, lint-free cloth to remove dust
- If necessary, place masking tape along the edges of the application area to help maintain a straight clean edge
Please Note: Siroflex SX Anti Crack Acrylic Caulk is not suitable for high moisture areas, such as bathrooms or kitchens
Application
Always make a test area beforehand to assess product suitability and the final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tube at all times.
- Open the container by cutting the cap off the top of the screw part of the tube
- Screw on the supplied nozzle to the tube
- Place the tube into a skeleton gun
- Apply Siroflex SX Anti Crack Acrylic Caulk into the gap or joint, ensuring a good solid fill
- Always tool using a spatula or a wetted stick within 10 minutes of application
- If masking tape has been used, then remove the masking tape within ten minutes of application
- Uncured sealant can be cleaned off with water
Please Note: If used on an exterior surface, then allow for a drying time of 5 hours in good dry weather.
