Sikkens Rubbol Satura is a high build, opaque coating for exterior hardwood and softwood joinery, as well as suitably primed metals and hard plastics. Being moisture vapour permeable, it allows water vapour to escape so moisture doesn't get trapped in the wood. Provides even coverage, outstanding colour retention and scratch resistance. Flexible coating flexes with the wood, preventing cracking and flaking.
- For a high gloss finish, try Sikkens Rubbol XD Gloss or Sikkens Rubbol AZ Plus. Sikkens Rubbol Satura can also be used as a "mid-coat" for the application of these higher gloss alternatives, if greater weather protection is required.
Please note: The 'Black' version of this product is being shipped by the manufacturer as 'Sikkens Rubbol Satura Plus'.

Surfaces should be primed with Sikkens Rubbol Primer in the appropriate colour, prior to application. This ensures even and thorough application with the best possible bond with the substrate to minimise chances of flaking and peeling.
Ensure that surfaces to be treated are suitably prepared, clean, dry and free from surface dust, dirt, wax and grease. The moisture content should not exceed 18% prior to coating.

Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.
- Apply 2 coats with a good quality synthetic bristle brush or microfibre roller
- Allow 18 hours drying time between coats
Sikkens Rubbol Satura can also be used as a "mid-coat" for the application of higher gloss alternatives if greater weather protection is required. Apply 1 coat of Sikkens Rubbol Satura and finish with the desired top coat.

Regular Cleaning
Treated surfaces can be wiped clean with a lint-free cloth and warm water.
Maintenance
The finish should be inspected yearly to check for any surface defects or damage as a result of weathering. If required, areas of wear or damage can be rectified by carrying out the following.
- Lightly sand with a fine grade abrasive paper to keep splinters and rough edges away
- Remove all dust thoroughly
- Apply 1 or 2 coats of Sikkens Rubbol Satura as required

It was as expected

Sikkens Satura
As with the primer it’s hard to stir and paint but is covers well. Time will tell if it lasts better than the previous outdoor paint for wood that I used. So far so good.
