Overview

Osmo Paint Stripper is a powerful, universal paint stripper which effectively dissolves and removes a wide range of lacquers, paints, varnishes, oil finishes, wood stains, glues and plaster formulations. Its low odour makes it ideal for use on interior and exterior surfaces.

Please note: It is not recommended for use on 2-component coatings or epoxy resin. If using indoors, keep well ventilated and always use foils or polythene dust sheets.

Areas to be stripped should be cleaned to remove any surface dirt and debris that may restrict contact with Osmo Paint Stripper.

  • Ensure that any surfaces not intended to be stripped are covered and protected from this product
  • Wear protective clothing such as gloves, safety glasses or goggles

Always do a test area to assess performance and compatibility before starting any project. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times. Stir well before use.

  1. Using a suitable brush or trowel, apply a liberal coat of Osmo Paint Stripper
  2. Cover straight away using a thin foil or polythene dust sheet
  3. Reaction time will vary between a few minutes, a few hours to even overnight, dependent on the coating being removed and the number of layers being removed
  4. Check the stripping performance occasionally, by lifting an edge with a trowel
  5. Once all layers have been permeated with the gel, remove the foil or polythene dust sheet
  6. Using a trowel, remove the soft, dissolved layer and rinse the treated area with warm water

Please note: Osmo Paint Stripper must not be left on the surface for longer than is necessary. A repeat application may be required with some surfaces.

For wood surfaces, allow to dry thoroughly for 24-48 hours before cleaning, prepping and re-coating.
