Fiddes Floor Wax

Fiddes Floor Wax can be applied over most pre-finished floors and finishes, including water-based and solvent-based stains, wood oils, polishes and varnishes to give a much greater sheen if desired. It can also be applied to untreated or bare wood floors and other surfaces, for a more traditional looking finish. Quick and easy to apply and easily maintained and restored.

This product is not suitable for high traffic areas, commercial floors and high moisture areas such as kitchens and bathrooms.

Ensure that all surfaces to be treated are clean, dry and free of dust, dirt or any other surface contaminants before applying Fiddes Floor Wax.

Pre-finished Wooden Floors

1. Clean wooden floors with Fiddes Floor Surface Cleaner
2. Allow the floor to fully dry before applying Fiddes Floor Wax

Bare Wood Flooring

1. Bare wood floors should be sanded with a 120-150 grit abrasive
2. Remove all traces of sanding dust with a vacuum
3. Fill in any holes or gaps in wooden floors with Fiddes Floor Repair Kit

Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.

Please Note: The consistency of this product can vary with temperature. In warmer environments it becomes a thick liquid, in cooler environments more of a solid.

1. Apply Fiddes Floor Wax sparingly, working on one manageable area at a time
2. Apply to larger floor areas with a clean and dry microfibre mop
3. The minimum recommendation on bare floors is 2 - 3 coats, or 1 - 2 coats for pre-finished floors, although any number of additional coats can be applied if necessary
4. To achieve a deep lustre, buff the freshly applied wood floor polish with a stockinette cloth or polishing machine once dried. Alternatively, to save time and make the process of polishing floors much easier, use a drill mounted buffing brush

Regular Cleaning

For day to day cleaning, surfaces treated with Fiddes Floor Wax can be dry wiped, swept or vacuumed.

Deep Cleaning

Maintenance

It is normal to re-wax wooden floor surfaces every 12-18 months, although many people re-wax more often than this, especially in high traffic areas. Additional coats will offer an improved patina.

Repair

Patches of wear in high traffic areas can be easily patch repaired by simply re-applying some floor wax to the worn, tired looking area.
