Overview
Dulux Trade Weathershield Multi-Surface Fungicidal Wash is a ready to use multi-surface formula designed for cleaning all bare or painted wood and masonry surfaces contaminated with moulds, algae and lichen.
Preparation
To get the best results, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean and dry.
- Remove as much mould, algae or lichen as possible by scraping and brushing before treating
- Where old growths have been trapped between previous coats, all existing coatings need to be removed
- Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces as the coating may contain harmful lead
Application
Always do a test area before starting any project to test for compatibility and adhesion. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.
This product is for brush application only and should not be sprayed. This product should also not be applied in wet weather
- Shake container thoroughly before use
- Apply one coat by brush to all affected areas
- Leave for 24 hours then thoroughly rinse and scrub with water to remove residues and dead growth; failure to do this may result in discolouration of subsequently applied coatings
- Repeat the process if necessary
- On badly affected areas or where lichen is present, the use of a high pressure water-hosing may be necessary
- After use, remove as much product from the equipment before cleaning with water
