Dulux Trade Vinyl Soft Sheen

Based on unique AkzoNobel technology Dulux Trade Vinyl Soft Sheen Paint is a water-based emulsion that is perfect for interior walls and ceilings. It offers a tough, durable mid-sheen finish that is washable making it ideal for busy household and commercial environments.

• For a silk-sheen emulsion paint finish, use Dulux Trade Vinyl Silk
• For a matt emulsion paint finish, use Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt
• For an ultra low-sheen emulsion paint finish, try Dulux Trade Durable Flat Matt

Ensure that surfaces to be painted are clean, dry and free from dust and any other surface contaminants.

1. Recently plastered walls must be allowed to fully dry before painting
2. Remove all loose and defective paint from the surface to be painted with a scraper or a suitable paint stripper
3. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces as they may contain harmful lead
4. Where necessary, wash the surface to remove dirt, grease and powdery or dusty residues
5. Rinse with clean water and allow to dry
6. If required, rub down surfaces and then wipe off with a damp, lint-free cloth to avoid dust collecting on the surface and in the paint itself
7. Seal surfaces that remain powdery after thorough preparation with an appropriate plaster sealer, or use Dulux Trade Stain Block Matt, which will also seal in any stains

Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.

For best colour consistency, purchase sufficient paint for the job, including enough for future touch-in if required. Do not apply at temperatures below 8°.

1. Stir paint thoroughly before and periodically during use
2. Apply Dulux paint with a good quality synthetic brush, microfibre roller, conventional spray or airless spray system
3. Seal new or bare surfaces with a thinned first coat of Dulux Soft Sheen (up to 1 part clean water to 5 parts paint)
4. Apply 2 full coats on new or previously unpainted surfaces
5. 1 coat of Soft Sheen emulsion may be sufficient on previously painted surfaces in good condition where similar colours have been used
6. Allow 3 hours to fully dry

Thinning Guidelines

• Sealing new or bare surfaces: Add up to 1 part clean water to 5 parts paint
• Normal use (not to be exceeded): Add up to 1 part clean water to 10 parts paint
• Conventional spray application: Add up to 1 part clean water to 5 parts paint
• Airless spray application: Add up to 1 part clean water to 5 parts paint

Cleaning

Painted surfaces can be gently wiped with a damp cloth to remove surface scuffs and marks.

Maintenance

To maintain the finish, simply apply a fresh coat of Dulux Vinyl Soft Sheen as required, following the Preparation and Application instructions above.
