Ensure that surfaces to be painted with Dulux Quick Dry Eggshell paint are clean, dry and free of dirt, dust, grease and any other surface contaminants.
New or Bare Timber
- New or bare surfaces should be primed with Dulux Trade Undercoat
Previously Painted Timber
- Thoroughly rub down previously painted surface (wet & dry sandpaper is ideal for this)
- Remove any dust with a dampened lint-free cloth
- Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s painted surfaces as they may contain harmful lead
Old Timber
- Treat any knots in the wood with an appropriate knotting solution
- Any holes, splits or other surface defects should be filled with a suitable wood filler

Always do a test area before starting any project to assess compatibility and consistency of the finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.
This product is not suitable for spray application. For best colour consistency, purchase sufficient paint for each project including enough for touch in at a later date if required. Do not use or store in extremes of temperature, and protect from frost.
- Stir thoroughly before and periodically during use
- Apply 2 full coats of Dulux Eggshell Paint using a good quality synthetic paint brush or microfibre roller
- Allow 6 hours drying time between coats
- Allow 16 hours to fully dry

To maintain the finish, simply apply a fresh coat of Dulux Quick Dry Eggshell paint, following the Preparation and Application instructions above.

A low sheen topcoat that is easy to use
A super eggshell finish and quick drying. It is easy to use and produces a durable finish for woodwork providing an attractive alternative to gloss paint.

Real white
I’m using this to paint over my existing Dulux Trade Brilliant White Matt Emulsion which is more ivory than white. The quick-dry eggshell is a true white colour and is touch-dry in 15 minutes. Also eggshell paint doesn’t have an overpowering smell.

Excellent colour and coverage
I couldn’t find this paint anywhere locally. I needed to match the existing paint and found it on Wood finishes direct. I received it a few days later so would use them again.
