Cuprinol Garden Furniture Teak Oil

Cuprinol Garden Furniture Teak Oil is a naturally enhancing wood oil for all hardwood garden furniture, providing a quick and easy way to protect new furniture and restore old garden furniture to it's former glory. It replaces the natural wood oils lost through weathering. It is also effective at maintaining the colour and appearance of new outdoor furniture.

Please Note: Cuprinol Teak Oil is only suitable for use on bare or previously oiled wooden garden furniture. This product does not provide UV protection so therefore the wood will naturally turn grey / silver over time. For added UV protection consider Cuprinol Ultimate Furniture Oil.

Ensure that wooden garden furniture to be treated is clean, dry and free from dust, dirt and any other surface contaminants.

1. Any previous stains should be removed back to bare wood by sanding or using a suitable wood stripper
2. Remove any surface dirt and soiling, large areas of algae, lichen, fungi or moss with a stiff brush or scraper
3. If the wood has been contaminated with biological growth, treat with a suitable mould and mildew cleaner
4. Fill any gaps or splits in the wood with Cuprinol All Purpose Wood Filler or Cuprinol Ultra Tough Wood Filler
5. Before oiling, prepare the garden furniture with a suitable cleaner such as Cuprinol Garden Furniture Cleaner
6. To restore the appearance of grey and weathered furniture, use Cuprinol Garden Furniture Restorer prior to oiling
7. Lightly sand or scrub the wood with a scotch pad to remove loose wood fibres

Always do a test area before starting any project and follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times. Shake the tin thoroughly before use and stir periodically during use to achieve a consistent finish.

1. Apply a light coat of Cuprinol Teak Oil with a suitable brush or lint-free cloth
2. Remove any excess oil from the surface of the wood with a clean, lint-free cloth
3. Allow a minimum of 6 hours between coats, longer if the wood still feels tacky or sticky
4. Apply a second coat as above
5. Allow 24 hours to fully dry

Cleaning

Wipe down all surfaces with a damp cloth to remove food and liquid spillages. For more stubborn stains and marks, use Cuprinol Garden Furniture Cleaner.

Please Note: Using household cleaners and detergents should be avoided as they could potentially degrade or strip the Teak Oil from the wood.

Maintenance

Garden furniture treated with Cuprinol Garden Furniture Teak Oil can be easily maintained. If furniture is starting to look worn and tired, or is losing its ability to repel water, simply re-apply a fresh coat of teak oil, following the Preparation and Application instructions above.

Cuprinol suggest a coverage of up to 24m² per litre. A litre tin will cover approx 12m² on two coats, however, very porous timbers will absorb easier, making the coverage much less.
