Cuprinol Decking Cleaner is an all-in-one decking cleaner that is perfect for use on garden decking, patios and stonework. Containing specially formulated detergents, it effectively cleans a wide range of surface contaminates, including dirt, grease and green algae.
This product can be used as a pre-treatment for cleaning biological matter from wooden decking before applying a Cuprinol decking oil or decking stain. Cuprinol Decking Cleaner is not intended as a replacement for the regular treatment of decking.

Remove excessive organic growth and soiling with a scraper, stiff brush or broom before treating decking boards with Cuprinol Decking Cleaner.

Always do small a test area before beginning any project to check suitability and compatibility. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.
- Apply Cuprinol Decking Cleaner by brush only
- Scrub affected area with a stiff brush, leave for a few minutes and then rinse off with water
- Leave for at least 1hr, drying times can vary depending on the nature of the surface and the weather conditions
- Allow to dry fully before staining or oiling the deck
Please Note: Heavily soiled decking may require a second application to fully clean. Take care to ensure that Cuprinol Decking Cleaner doesn't come into contact with nearby plants, fish ponds, watercourses or drains.

Once fully dry, decking can be finished with one of the following decking products from the Cuprinol range:

Does what it says on tin
I used to clean decking prior to applying decking oil and it removed grime and algae, although had to apply 2 coats to fully remove the algae. Apart from that satisfied with product.

Generally impressed
I was not expecting too much, but this really did help clean very soiled decking. Scraped & scrubbed surface deposits from the boards first and then scrubbed again with this cleaner diluted with about 40% water. Still took some elbow grease, but almost all the old black stains were removed. It doesn't go as far as I hoped, however, and I had to buy more.
