Preparation

Preparation

Back

For best results, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean, dry and free from dirt, dust or any other surface contaminants.

  1. Remove all loose and defective paint with a paint scraper, by sanding, or with a paint stripper
  2. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces as they may contain harmful lead
  3. Where necessary, wash the surface to remove dirt, grease and powdery or dusty residues
  4. Rinse with clean water and allow to dry
  5. Any surface defects should be filled with an appropriate filler
  6. If required, rub down surfaces and then wipe off with a damp, lint-free cloth to remove dust
  7. Seal all surfaces that remain powdery after thorough preparation with an appropriate plaster sealer

Application

Application

Back

Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.

Use only in well ventilated areas.

For best colour consistency, purchase sufficient paint for each project including enough for touch-in at a later time.

  1. Stir the paint thoroughly before and periodically during use
  2. Apply 2 - 3 coats of Crown Easyclean Paint using a good quality synthetic brush or microfibre roller
  3. Allow 4 hours drying time between coats
  4. For significant colour change, further coats may be required

Aftercare

Aftercare

Back

To maintain the finish, simply apply a fresh coat of Crown Easyclean Kitchen Matt Emulsion, following the Preparation and Application instructions above.

Excellent white paint for a kitchen splashback wall
I used this paint on two splashback areas of my kitchen wall. I found it very easy to apply using a small paint roller. Previously, splashes from cooking, making coffee etc were impossible to remove properly from the normal white emulsion on the wall. The Crown Easyclean paint is an exact colour match for the normal Crown brilliant white emulsion in my kitchen. I can now clean away small splashes etc. on the wall with warm water on a piece of kitchen towel - no damage to the paint! I am happy to recommend this product.

Ideal for a touch up
I have previously used this kitchen paint & found it to be good. However, I needed a small amount after a recent boiler installation & the testers are ideal for such a purpose.
