Blanchon Waterborne Dye

Blanchon Waterborne Dye is an odourless, water-based wood stain for interior wood. It is very easy to apply and perfect for large, open areas such as wooden floors, wooden furniture, panelling and other interior woodwork. Suitable for all types of wood.

Blanchon Waterborne Dye will only be absorbed by clean, dry, untreated timber which is free from dirt, oil and grease.

1. Only use in well ventilated areas
2. Any previous coatings should be stripped using a suitable stripper and sanded back to bare wood
3. Any holes, scratches or imperfections should be filled with an appropriate wood filler
4. Oily hardwoods such as teak, resinous areas and knots should be thoroughly washed with methylated spirit and allowed to fully dry
5. Remove any sanding dust using a brush or vacuum cleaner

Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin or container at all times.

1. Shake the product thoroughly before and periodically during use
2. Apply with a synthetic bristle brush or sponge, moving along the grain of the wood
3. Wipe the surface with a clean microfibre cloth, giving a uniform finish
4. This product may be applied directly as supplied or diluted with water to create a less intense colour or shade
5. When treating large areas, apply the wood dye to small areas at a time to avoid overlaps, keeping a wet edge
6. The use of a buffing machine is necessary when treating large areas such as wooden floors
7. If spray applying, avoid misting
8. Allow to dry thoroughly

Cleaning Equipment

Clean applicators immediately after use with water. Wring out cloths and wipe tools thoroughly after application.

Blanchon Waterborne Dye must be over-coated with a suitable top coat, such as Blanchon Hard Wax Oil, or other compatible wood oil. Water and solvent-based varnishes can also be used.

Please Note: Caution must be taken when using water-based finishes over water-based dyes. Keep brush strokes to a minimum on the first coat as over brushing may lift or drag the colour.
