Osmo Wood Reviver Gel is perfect for use on garden furniture, decking, sheds, summerhouses and other exterior wooden surfaces that have turned grey or silver over time.

Please Note: This product is only suitable for bare wood or wood that has not been oiled for a number of years.

Read more about how to use Osmo wood reviver gel to maintain your decking in our blog.

Did you know we've written a series of three detailed blog posts about how to keep garden decking looking gorgeous, including some of the products we highly recommend for the job?

Ensure that surfaces to be treated are clean and free from all surface coatings and contaminates before treating.

  1. Remove coarse dirt, mould, algae or moss from greyed wood with a scraper, stiff broom or brush
  2. Dampen the wood with clean water
  3. Surface coatings such as paints, varnishes and stains must be fully removed prior to application

Always do a test area before starting any project and follow the manufacturer's instructions on the container at all times.

  1. Apply the gel generously along the wood grain
  2. After approximately 20 minutes, scrub the wood with a stiff brush
  3. Rinse off the gel with lots of clean water
  4. Allow approximately 24 to 48 hours for the colour of the timber to return
  5. Wood that has been grey / silver for a significant time may require a second application

Always wear gloves and protective eye wear when using this product.

Once treated, garden furniture and other garden wood should be treated further to offer the best all-round protection.

  1. To protect wood previously affected by mould, algae, lichen or moss, treat with a suitable mould and mildew cleaner or fungisidal wash
  2. To protect against future infestations of mould, algae and insect attack, use an exterior wood preservative
  3. To protect wood from cracking, splitting and warping, we recommend using an exterior wood oil

If surfaces treated with Osmo Wood Reviver Gel start to naturally grey again over time, simply repeat the steps laid out in the Preparation and Application sections.

Brilliant results by Kevin O'Sullivan

I used this on some old beams in the cellar while coverting it. The beams had previously been used as old railway sleepers before being used in the house construction over 100 years ago and were weathered and grey. It took two coats but now they look fabulous.

Worked better than I expected by Susan S

I used this on our garden table, which looked grey and dull, even though it's only 4 years old. The wood reviver brought most of the table back to a much better colour. There are still a few greyish patches, but overall it's a huge improvement. It does need quite a bit of elbow grease, and I gave it a quick sand to start with, and ended with 2 coats of furniture oil. Next it's the chairs....

Very easy to use by John W

I was recommended to use this product to restore a badly dilapidated garden bench. Just paint it on, leave for 30 minutes and rinse off. That's all I did and it worked really well. It seems quite environmentally friendly as the brushes cleaned up perfectly in water afterwards. I will have to give it a second treatment because the oak timbers have been untreated for a long time , but that should be quite straightforward. Afterwards I will finally apply teak oil. So far it's looking a lot better.

Didn't really do anything. The bench looked exactly the same after I used it.

A note from us...

Hello Lindsey,

Thank you for your feedback, the Osmo Wood Revivor Gel does require a little elbow grease. But can on occasion require two applications to give a good effect. Also it requires application to bare wood, do you know if there was any previous treatment still on the wood as this may also have an effect on how well the gel works. I would be happy to help further if you wish to get in contact >>> www.wood-finishes-direct.com/info/contact-us

All the Best Sam.

Easy to use and did reduce greying, I did 2x applications by Julian Marshall

easy to use although surface cleaning is an priority and really good washing down prior to treatment is essential. Would say that the photo of before and after is a bit misleading because whilst the treated wood does shine and look incredibly clean while the gel is on, once washed off it returns to a quite dull state. Some greying still remained after 2x treatments so not sure how many treatments may be required for a really cleaned up finish.

A note from us...

Hello Julian,

It would be fair to say that more often than not this product gives good results, but we have had customer suggest that two or more applications have been required to return the wood to it original state. This can also depend on the condition and age of the wood. I hope that you where able to complete your project and if there is anything further that I can help with please do let me know.

Kind regards Sam.

Very easy to use The result was amazing, wood came up like new by Christine Grove

This was recommended by the original installers of my timber conservatory (Prime Oak) for use before applying Osmo UV Protection Oil. A 2.5L tub was sufficient to treat the external surface and the wood came up like new. It was easy enough to hose and brush off - and added bonus was that it the run-off cleaned the patio.

Cleaned up previously untreated wood but poor results on treated wood by Hywel Watkin

Had applied Osmo to preserve the appearance of a wooden gate 2 years ago. The few areas of grey on the gate I sanded then applied the wood reviver with generally poor results. It worked much better on a previously untreated wood step.

Thank you for your feedback. Generally we do hear good things about this product but we have also had feedback that sometimes two applications are required to restore the wood or even that it has been unsuccessful for a small number of projects. Its disappointing to hear when a product has not worked in the expected way and I hope that you where able to complete your project in a satisfactory way.
