Timber surfaces must be clean, dry and free of also surface dirt, debris and loose material. The moisture content of the wood should not exceed 18% prior to coating.

Applying Sadolin Woodshield Paint
Always do a small test area before starting any project and follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.
ConditionsSadolin Woodshield should not be applied if there is a risk of rain, or when air / substrate temperatures are below 8℃ or above 25℃, or if the relative humidity is above 80% during the application or drying period. Treated surfaces must be protected from frost and rain until fully dry. Failure to meet these requirements may adversely affect the drying, visual quality and durability of the finish.
Stir thoroughly before and during application to ensure consistent sheen and colour. Failure to do this may result in variations in the final finish.
A lightening in colour, reduction in sheen and a loss of water-repellency is an indication that maintenance is required. For general light maintenance, lightly abrade in the direction of the wood grain and clean using warm water and a mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. Once dry, a fresh coat of Sadolin Woodshield may then be applied.
If the finish is badly flaking or peeling, to the point where the bare wood is showing through or has started to grey, please follow the full Preparation and Application instructions above.
Good coverage, quick drying despite low temperatures. Easy to clean up after use. Ideal.
It does what it says on the tin!
very easy to use and excellent finish .
Far superior than Ronseal.
Used on exterior, small paned windows. Very easy to apply, quick drying, and easy to remove over-run paint on the glass. Brushes easy to clean too.
Well started to paint the windows after sanding them, no awaiting good weather to finish them. What I have managed seems to be a good quality finish, easy to apply and fairly quick drying.
Time will tell, but have now painted two garages and utility room and the end result is impressive - it has the feel of a quality product But its durability is to be tested but I am confident it will endure.
Requires a few coats as does any paint but its great not to have to prime and undercoat
It is easy to apply, covers well and the clean up is easy too. It is lasting longer than the oil based systems that I used previously. As someone who wants to spend as little time as possible on maintaining exterior woodwork, this product appears to tick all my boxes.
I use this paint on a wide variety of external woodwork including window frames. I don't think anything comes near it for ease of application and durability. Yes, it looks expensive but there is a real saving in terms of preparation and lifetime. A great product.
I've used the black and white versions over a number of years, but the black is my favourite. Makes painting my old wooden, multi-paned window frames easier and less frequent. No priming, no undercoat, no fumes, no white spirit. Give it a good stir - especially a new tin. I think it's great and no longer waste time considering other products. The limited colour range doesn't bother me - in fact it makes life simpler!
Used for fascia boards. So good have done my windows as well.
This product remains flexible which means less cracking and peeling . This in turn means less work and painting for me which makes the extra cost fully justified . Quick delivery from WFD and competitive pricing.
Used as online said the same paint as Sadoline SuperDec however seems to need a couple more coats than the SuperDec. Still a good finish and time will tell on durability.
It's the best way of painting an preserving woodwork, lasts for years
Love this paint. Goes on easily, covered bare wood quickly with just 2 coats. Like the fact it goes over other types of paint. Easy to clean off brushes. Definitely use again.
Used it for some wooden drain covers - harsh environment. Excellent paint to apply. Gives a nice shiny black finish. On 'treated' but bare wood had to use 2 coats plus a touch up in some places to get a uniform colour. Brushes on well, dries OK. Looks nice.
Will recommend this product to anyone needing the BEST.
