Timber surfaces must be suitably prepared, clean, sound and dry. The moisture content should not exceed 18% prior to coating.
Always do a test area before starting any project to test product suitability, adhesion and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.
Do not apply if there is a risk of rain, or when air / substrate temperatures are below 8℃ or above 25℃, or if the relative humidity is above 80% during application or drying periods. Protect from frost and rain until dry. Failure to meet these requirements may adversely affect the drying, visual quality and durability of the finish.
Ensure that Sadolin Woodstain is thoroughly stirred before and during application, otherwise sheen and colour variations may be experienced. Sadolin Classic Wood Protection is ready to use from the tin and does not require thinning.
A lightening in colour, reduction in sheen and a loss of water-repellency is an indication that maintenance is required. For general maintenance, lightly abrade in the direction of the wood grain and clean using warm water and a mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. Once dry, a fresh coat of Sadolin Classic Wood Protection can be applied.
If the finish is badly flaking or peeling, to the point where the bare wood is showing through or has started to grey, please follow the full Preparation and Application instructions above.
used this product for a long time, consistent quality, long lasting.
Easy to apply and colour true to sample. Even after one coat it masked uneven colour tones on the fence panels to give a natural finish .
Brought up wood like new
Great product at a good price.
Easy to apply, good finish, protects well. Just follow the instructions!
Results are just what I was looking for.
Just what I required
Excellent - this is my second purchase and very well pleased
very good product
Brilliant easy to use product, but don't be fooled by the coverage of painting old wood. Divide by 2 to ensure you buy enough!
Does what it says on the tin!
Excellent to apply
This product fulfills all my expectations of Sadolin's qualities.
I don't re-stain my fence panels very often, but was recommended to use Sadolin by a friend and Wood Finishes Direct had just the right colour and at the right price!
good product and cost is reasonable
I am not aware of a better wood treatment
We were advised to use this to protect the new timber doors on our garage. It's expensive but very good results obtained. We were so impressed we subsequently bought some more to treat our front door.
