Sadolin Superdec provides a solution to most common issues associated with traditional paints. It can be applied to new and previously painted or stained surfaces, and is ideal for use where a complete change of colour is required or where the existing surface has become weathered and uneven in appearance.
This product is not suitable for decking.
Wooden surfaces to be treated with Sadolin Superdec Paint must be suitably prepared, clean, dry and free from all traces of surface dust and debris. The moisture content should not exceed 18% prior to coating.
Always do a test area before starting any project to test product suitability, adhesion and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.
Do not apply if there is a risk of rain, or when air / substrate temperatures are below 8℃ or above 25℃ or the relative humidity is above 80% during application or drying periods. Protect from frost and rain until dry. Failure to meet these requirements may adversely affect the drying, visual quality and durability of the final finish.
Ensure Sadolin Superdec Opaque Wood Protection is thoroughly stirred before and during application, otherwise sheen and colour variations may be experienced. Sadolin Superdec Paint is supplied ready for use. Do not thin.
To ensure optimum durability and uniformity of appearance, once Sadolin Superdec has dried we recommend finishing with 2 full coats of Sadolin Woodshield, allowing a minimum of 16-24 hours drying time between coats. In some instances on new timber, or where a strong colour change is required, a third coat may be necessary.
A lightening in colour, reduction in sheen and a loss of water-repellency is an indication that maintenance is required. For general maintenance, lightly abrade in the direction of the wood grain and clean using warm water and a mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. Once dry, a fresh coat of Sadolin Superdec Opaque Wood Protection can be applied.
If the finish is badly flaking or peeling, to the point where the bare wood is showing through or has started to grey, please follow the full Preparation and Application instructions above.
In my experience, most paint finishes that are very quick drying are very hard to apply. This paint is very easy to apply, gives a lovely finish and is extremely quick drying. I will be recommending it to all my friends and family. The coverage is much better than I expected so I bought way more than I needed!
Water based, quick drying, high opacity, just brilliant stuff.
Used for external paintwork. Easy to apply, good coverage. Finish not as glossy as previous brands, but impressed by 8 year durability warranty.
Brushes can be cleaned in water, covers well but it is better to give at least two coats.
Went on easy, better than paint. Nice opaque finish. Waiting to see how it fares outside on the new gates over winter.
Good product. Finish is good. Easy to apply. Dries quickly. Hard to clean the brushes at the end of the day (I wrapped my brush in foil to stop it going dry during tea).
This product is one of the best paint, I have been using it for a long time specially for external or internal wood work, it arrived very quickly and good price and well packaged, thanks
does the job without the need for undercoat - cant comment on longevity but claim 8 years. Easy with it being water based.
I have used Superdec on a number occasions and find it is a good quality exterior paint which we have used on our barn conversion. As the finish is semi gloss (satin) it stays clean and expels water.
Does the job brilliantly and can be mixed in a big range of colours including RAL. This means that you can colour match to other paints and finishes such as masonry paint.
Bought this paint for some softwood new windows. Took 4 coats in the end to cover to properly and stop being streaky. Thankfully its water based its so easy to clean up between coats! Windows not installed yet so cannot comment on its durability, tin claims 8 years. Service from wood finishes direct was fantastic, next day delivery for free and tin properly packaged with no chance of spillage/damage.
Much better than other products on the market
Goes on real easy, does not smell and seems to repel water like "a ducks back". 2 coats gave a nice solid finish
Outstanding adhesion and durability. A little tricky to apply in very hot conditions.
Good product, but needs at least three coats.
Excellent coverage. Seeps well into new wood and also covers existing finishes. Have used on soars for 15 years. No rot.
Used this product - unbeatable in my opinion
