Preparation
Wooden surfaces to be treated with Barrettine garden furniture oil must be dry and clean of all surface contaminates including lacquers, varnishes, dirt, grit and fungi, sanding is recommended to take the wood back to bare wood. If the exterior furniture to be treated is oily or greasy, white spirit can be used to break down and remove these contaminates.
Furniture oil application
Barrettine garden furniture oil can be quickly and easily applied with a clean paint brush or cloth. Apply liberally removing any excess furniture oil and allowing to thoroughly dry for 8 hours between coats. In normal conditions, a second or third coat of furniture oil can be added. Treated furniture and areas should be protected from the rain, frost etc until the furniture wood oil has thoroughly dried.
Maintenance & finish
To help preserve the look and life of exterior garden furniture, it is recommended that Barrettine garden furniture oil is applied at least once a year as above.
To give a superior smooth finish, exterior furniture oil can be gently rubbed with a very fine wire wool between coats when fully dried .
Always read and follow the instructions on the container before and during the application of the exterior furniture oil.
