Please Note:

  • Liberon Garden Furniture Teak Oil is being rebranded to Liberon Garden Furniture Oil. The formulation has remained unchanged

Preparation

Preparation

Back

Ensure that the surface to be oiled is clean, dry and free from dust, dirt or any other surface contaminants. Previous coats of paint, varnish or stain must be fully removed back to bare wood by sanding or with a chemical stripper before oiling.

  1. Areas affected by mould or algae should be treated with Liberon Garden Furniture Cleaner prior to oiling
  2. If required, fill any gaps or splits in the wood with Liberon Wood Filler

Application

Application

Back

Oil finishes bring out the natural colours of timber. A wet surface will be an indication of the final colour. Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.

  1. Shake the tin thoroughly before use.
  2. Apply Liberon Garden Furniture Oil with a natural bristle brush or lint-free cloth
  3. Allow the oil to penetrate for up to 20 minutes, then wipe off any excess with a clean, lint-free cloth
  4. Allow to dry for a minimum of 24 hours before applying more oil
  5. Liberon recommend a minimum of 3 coats, more in exposed areas
  6. Allow to dry for 24 hours before using treated furniture

Regular Cleaning

Oiled garden furniture can be wiped clean with a damp, lint-free cloth.

Maintenance

To maintain the protective qualities of Liberon Garden Furniture Teak Oil, all treated surfaces should be re-oiled once or twice a year, following the 'preparation' and 'application' instructions above.
