Crown Trade Clean Extreme Stain Resistant Scrubbable Matt

Crown Trade Clean Extreme Stain Resistant Scrubbable Matt offers a finish that is more stain resistant by 100% when compared to conventional emulsions and can be scrubbed in excess of 10,000 times. Can be applied by either a roller, brush or spray and is suitable for interior walls and ceilings.

To accomplish the optimum results it is essential to guarantee the project area is clean, dry and structurally sound, free from any imperfections or poorly adhering material

• All flawed, peeling and substandard old paint will need to be cleared away, either by sanding or with the use of a paint scraper
• Additional care should be taken when removing the surface of pre-1960s paint surfaces as they could possibly contain harmful quantities of lead
• Eradicate all organic growth, such as lichen, mould, algal or fungal growths, with an antifungal compound, such as Sandtex Fungicidal Wash
• Dirt, grease and dusty or powdery residues need to be cleaned away by washing the area with an appropriate detergent
• Flaws in the substrate, such as cracks and small holes or cavities, need to be be plugged, sealed and fixed with a suitable filler and then sanded flat
• Ensure the project area is clean by washing the surface with a suitable detergent to remove any residue of dust, grime or grease, then rinse clean and allow to fully dry
• Powdery or dusty substrates need to be sealed with an appropriate sealant, such as Sandtex Quick Drying Stabilising Solution
• It is recommended to coat porous and absorbent surfaces with a mist coat comprising of Crown Trade Clean Extreme Stain Resistant Scrubbable Matt diluted with 40% clean water
• Polished or shiny surfaces need to be primed with a suitable primer, such as Crown Trade PX3 All Purpose Primer or Crown Trade PX4 All Purpose Primer if a waterbased primer is preferred
• If the surface is still contaminated with staining or bleeding, then patch prime with Crown Trade PX4 All Purpose Primer to help eliminate the blemish

Always produce a test area to assess product suitability and the final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.

For best colour consistency, acquire enough paint for each project including a sufficient amount for touch-in and maintenance at a later date.

Crown Trade Clean Extreme Stain Resistant Scrubbable Matt can only be applied when air or substrate temperatures are likely to be above 8° or when the relative humidity is below 80% during application or the drying period.

• Stir the paint thoroughly before applying and regularly during use, guaranteeing a good mixture of pigment and medium
• Apply Crown Trade Clean Extreme Stain Resistant Scrubbable Matt with a good quality synthetic brush, microfibre roller, conventional spray or airless spray system
• If being applied by spray then, then refer to the manufacturer's instructions for the recommended dilution ratio
• The normal finishing process is 2 full coats of Crown Trade Clean Extreme Stain Resistant Scrubbable Matt though extra coats might be necessary over a darker surface

Please note: Crown Trade Clean Extreme Stain Resistant Scrubbable Matt will take one week to become fully cured and scrubbable.

Cleaning

Painted surfaces can be scrubbed to remove stubborn marks and defects or wiped with a damp cloth to eliminate surface scuffs and blemishes.

Maintenance

To preserve the finish, simply apply a fresh coat of Crown Trade Clean Extreme Stain Resistant Scrubbable Matt as required, following the Preparation and Application instructions above.

Please note: A small residue of colour may be wiped away when the newly painted surface is first cleaned. This is entirely normal and does not compromise the integrity of Crown Trade Clean Extreme Stain Resistant Scrubbable Matt in any way.
