Generally considered as the most effective wood bleach on the market, our wood bleach provides a solution for wood that might otherwise be destroyed because of colour variation or blemishes in the timber grain.

Some species of wood such as Scandinavian Red Pine can be prone to pink and blonde stripey areas that show when the timber is cut into planks. To give an even colour, wood bleaching can produce quick and easy results without the need of heavy sanding that may not resolve the problem.

Known as the 1 & 2 or A & B system, wood bleach comes as two separate products in two separate containers and is used like this:

  • Remove any existing wood finishes from the wood before applying the wood bleach.
  • Stir solution 'A' and apply to the blemished or darkest areas with a fresh paint brush.
  • Leave solution 'A' on the wood for 10 minutes before applying solution 'B' on top
  • Leave for 1-2 hours
  • The colour of the wood will begin to lighten, depending on the 'mark' and the timber.

If the wood has not lightened the stain or blemish enough, apply more of the 'B' solution and leave for another hour or two. Once the desired colour has been reached, apply an acetic acid or household white vinegar to neutralise any remaining wood bleach on the surface of the wood.

Wood Bleach Precautions

  • Never mix the 2 solutions together.
  • Always use a fresh brush for each of the 'A' & 'B' wood bleach solutions.
  • Solution 'A' of the wood bleach is damaging to glass.
  • Solution 'B' is an oxidising agent so contact with combustible materials could cause a fire.
