Sikkens Cetol HLS Plus can be used on its own or over-coated with Sikkens Cetol Filter 7 Plus
Perfect for softwood, hardwood, plywood, block board and particle board, such as claddings, fascias, architraves, timber frames, fences and sheds. Its properties make Cetol HLS plus eminently suitable for application to softwood.
Sikkens Varnish is designed for use on smooth wooden surfaces only..
Wood to be treated with Sikkens Cetol HLS Plus should be clean, dry and free from surface dirt, debris and surface coatings such as paint or varnish.
Note: Sikkens Cetol HLS Plus cannot be used on substrates which have had water-repellent wood preservative or pre-treatments applied i.e. products that contain wax, oil or silicon.
Damaged or decayed timber must be removed and replaced, cutting at least 25mm into sound timber. Before applying, make sure the wood is sanded back to a sound substrate.
Always do a small test area before starting any project and follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.
Application temperature should not be below or exceed 5 - 30℃ and a relative humidity of 85%.
For best results, it is necessary to keep the interval between applications of these coats limited, not exceeding 1 month.
If needed, wipe over with warm water to clean and dust.
Lightly sand with a fine grade abrasive paper to keep splinters and rough edges away.
Repair defects with Cetol HLS plus in the appropriate color and apply one full coat of Cetol HLS plus, overall
We have been using this product for several years. It is ideal for our house and conservatory
Chose this product based on all the excellent reviews of other uses. For once the colour of the finish matches with the tin..... not like others I have used which always differ and come out orange or darker than the colour shown on the tin/wall chart.
Great coverage and reasonably priced
This is an excellent product which has kept my Summer House/Shed in great condition for over 20 years.
I use it as base coat for filter7 and also as topcoat in areas that are not subject to glaring hot sun. Highly recommend
Wish I had ordered enough to start with! Easy to apply and looks good.
Bought as a first coat for a log cabin. Went on really well. Great product.
Sikkens low build wood stain cannot be recommended enough with it's excellent ability to within extremes of weather (high UV and heat to extreme of relentless driving rain).
Goes a long way but quite 'runny' so have to keep checking on work already done. Appears to be very good and long lasting. Have been using it for over 25 years and wood is still like new.
Sickens was recommended to me 15 years ago, and it has proven to give a better, much more durable finish than anything else I've tried for natural wood. I moved out of my last house 4 years after doing the external doors with these Sikkens primer and topcoat and it was still perfect.
Excellent!! I won't use anything else and always recommend sikkens.
Very happy with the product and the service.Have used the company before and will certainly use again. Thank you.
Easy to use, good coverage, nice colour.
I have used this product before, but if they could improve one thing it would be drying time between coats, one coat per day really holds things up, especially in our climate!
Works really well to repel water and gives a nice finish
Performed the task I required of it. Great coverage and perfect Colour for my needs.
I was hoping it would match the rosewood UPVC doors I've had fitted but it isn't anything like it. I've given it 2 coats and will try a third, then hope it darkens with age. Not the fault of WFD, just different companies interpretation of Rosewood.
