Ensure that surfaces to be treated are clean, dry and free from surface dirt, debris and other organic matter including mould, mildew, algae and fungi.
Always do a test area before starting any project to test appearance and suitability of the product on the timber to be treated. Follow the manufacturers instructions on the container at all times.
Please Note: The application of this product may cause darkening of some timbers. To ensure thorough protection, treat all surfaces. Apply to any surfaces cut after treatment.
After drying, wood glues, fillers, mastics and knotting solutions can be used on the timber as normal. Treated wood should be allowed to dry for 6 - 8 weeks before laying plastic floor coverings, rubber backed carpets or underlay, hanging vinyl wallpaper or using mastics. Do not spill on asphalt, bitumen, bitumen felt, tar, plaster, plastics, paint, etc.
If used as a standalone treatment and not over-coated with another product, Cuprinol Wood Preserver Clear (BP) can be topped up as and when required by following the preparation and application instructions above. If it is over-coated, there is no need to maintain this product. The top coat should be maintained in accordance with the maintenance instructions provided by the manufacturer for that product.
It does what it says on the tin with good coverage and penetration.
Used this oil on my wooden benches, it went on easy and quick and gave a lovely sheen to the wood. Would recommend it to my friends.
I did buy 5 units (25L) of this product for a log cabin. So far, all good.
Easy to put on, didn't drip too much, good sized tin. Tin was a bit dented on delivery but that didn't make any difference and the product wasn't damaged at all. Great product, glad I spent this here as I researched quite a lot first. It sunk into the fence, gave it a nice golden glow as it dried and a slight lightness as it dried properly. The rain just drips down it now so my lovely fence is good for some years hopefully. Had some left, put three coats on my small bench. The website was a great help.
have bought a few of these wood preservatives and would recommend them to protect your wood products
Does exactly what it says, goes on soaks in and over paintable a few days later.
Arrived very quickly - easy to apply - used on new fences
Used this on both my shed and decking before finishing with a oil base product
need good ventilation but the outcome is fine
Easy to apply, quality product.
a good preserver that shows up the grain and looks natural.
Cuprinol Wood Treatment Clear has proved to be a quality external timber treatment product to protect the hides and classroom on a local nature reserve that I manage.
Very Happy. Easy to use.
I have used this product for many years, both with sprayer but mostly with a brush. More expensive than many similar products but well worth the extra cost. Goes on easily and soaks in well and lasts for years(10 years since I last did my fence), so saves time and money in the long run. Would not use anything else.
Excellent product with excellent service, next day... Great product delivering great preservation from the elements. I must on a shed or any wood in the garden.
Building a cabin near our lake, so we needed to protect the wood prior to applying the final colour coat finish
Easy to apply. Soaks in and dries quickly. Does not effect original wood colour. Very quick delivery
