Back

Osmo Polymer Composite Maintenance Oil 030 is a clear satin oil that penetrates the substrate and forms a protective barrier. Through impregnation the surface area is protected from dirt, oil and grease whilst also becoming water repellent.

Please note:

  • Oils enhance the natural colour of a substrate and produce a permanent wet effect appearance
  • Trial application is recommended
  • White or very light coloured surfaces can appear to be slightly yellowed by the oil
  • Non-absorbent surfaces, such as glass, glazed tiles or plastics cannot be treated
  • The impregnation of the oil could influence the slip resistance of the original surface

Preparation

Preparation

Back

Ensure the project area is sound, clean, dry and free from dust, frost and debris.

  • Remove any loose debris from the project area with a suitable cleaning instrument, such as a stiff bristled brush
  • Ensure the project area is weathered by abrading the surface to aid with absorption
  • It is recommended to clean the project area with Osmo Polymer Composite Cleaner (8021)
  • Osmo Polymer Composite Maintenance Oil is ready to use with no need for dilution
  • Rinse the project area thoroughly with clean water and allow to dry

Application

Application

Back

Always perform a test area to judge suitability and the final finish. Also, for the best results, please follow the manufacture's instructions

  • Apply with the use of a Osmo Floor Brush or Osmo Soft Tip Brush
  • Osmo Polymer Composite Maintenance Oil needs to be applied very thinly to aid absorption and needs to absorbed into the surface
  • Ensure there is no residue left on the surface or within the grooves
  • If there is any pooling of residue then use a dry brush to remove any excess oil
  • Ensure good ventilation to the project area to aid with drying

Excess oil can be very slow drying and will produce a glossy layer with poor adhesion to the substrate

Impeccable service and great product
I had damaged the surface of my composite decking with a power wash .. so please beware ! I spoke to a sales person who recommended this polymer oil along with a Prosecco brush. He was right as the finish is superb and probably looks better than when new. The 1 litre tin just covered our 30 sq metres. Really pleased and would highly recommended

First class product
Absolutely delighted with this product-definitely needed 2 coats but what a product, it has brought my decking back to life - excellent product.

Overall good
Put 2 coats on faded light grey composite decking, not easy to apply thinly and evenly and to stop pooling in grooves. Colour now dark grey and looks pretty good. Time will tell only applied recently.

Great quality Oil
I used this oil on brand new composite boards which were £30 per 4m length. The boards were not bad quality, solid core, but I could see that from the day of installation they were getting very dirty and looking "not as good as what I expected", even after a good clean.. This oil has brought them right up, they look better than when I installed them. The deck now looks amazing and has higher stain resistance... Not fading after 2 months of application.. Will use again if needed in the future ...

Did what it said
Used this product on composite black step which had faded. Was easy to apply, and revived the colour.
