Overview
Zinsser Wallpaper Cover-Up is an all-in-one coating perfect for painting over wallpaper to cover strong print and can be used under any coloured emulsion. It seals the wallpaper, protecting it from moisture within the paint, so no blistering or bubbling and dries to smooth, off white matt finish. Offers excellent stain blocking qualities which stop seeping stains such as smoke, damp and other water soluble stains.
Preparation
For the best results, ensure that surfaces to be primed are smooth, clean, dry, and free from any dirt, dust or other surface contaminants. The wallpaper must be well adhered to the surface.
Application
Always do a test area before starting any project to check product suitability and effectiveness. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.
Only apply at temperatures ranging between 10°C and 30°C.
- Stir thoroughly before and periodically during use
- Apply Zinsser Wallpaper Cover-Up with a good quality short pile mohair or microfibre roller. Can also be brush and pad applied
- Apply 1 generous full coat to prepared surfaces
- If using brush or pad application, apply a generous amount, evenly and avoid overspreading
- For very dark wallpapers or those with a contrasting print, use a "wet on wet" rollering technique
- Allow 15 to 30 minutes after application, whilst the surface is still wet before applying a 2nd, lighter coat of primer
- Surface will be touch dry in 2 - 4 hours and fully dry after 4 hours, ready for finishing
Cleaning Equipment
Clean brushes and rollers immediately after use, using white spirits.
